Air bags

I have a 15 silverado 2500 6.0, and i use a equalizer 12k 4point setup. I have airlift 5000 i use for when i put heavy loads in during the year. My trailer is a 17 vibe 313bh, have not weighed it but guessing shes around 8500 dry off of sticker and prob close to 9500-10k loaded when im done with everyone stuff. My question is, do I put air in the bags to help or solely rely on the wdh?

Does anyone else use air bags?

I used airbags to help take some of the bounce from the back of the truck due to our terrible roads.

If you do end up using bags with the WDH make sure you adjust the WDH with the bags at the level you want. Do not adjust the WDH with empty bags and then level the load otherwise you will be reducing the load on the bars and the hitch won't be adjusted correctly.

My stock height for rear wheel well is 43". Set air bags to achieve desired height then adjust bars correct?

Correct. Keep an eye on the pressure in the bags too, don’t fill them to the max just to get a level load.

I think I only ran 15 or so psi when I had the trailer. Did not take much.

The fact that your ready-to-camp trailer weighs up to 10K means that your 1200/12000K hitch is too light for task and is not transferring the necessary weight back to the front axle and to the trailer axles. This may be part of the reason that you need the air bags to correct the sag. But the problem there is, air bags don't transfer any weight, they just lift the truck. You might find that with the proper hitch you don't need the airbags at all, and have a better handling TV to boot.

Your loaded trailer hitch weight is probably in the neighborhood of 1300-1500 lbs. Also, according the the Equalizer website, you have to count any weight packed on or behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle against your hitch weight as well. Unless the bed of your truck is completely empty, you are probably exceeding even the 1400/14000 EQ hitch with is the heaviest for this brand.
With a TT this heavy you may want to consider the Blue Ox Swaypro 1500 or 2000 instead.

I didnt have any problems towing her before, i was just curious how to use the air bags in conjunction. I added airbags to help in my business when i am fully loaded near 3k lbs payload.

I never really needed them either, they just gave me a smoother "air ride" feel to the road bumps.

I use mine to level the truck, I end up with around 35-40 psi in them with the load on.
