Air Bags

I leveled my 2005 GMC 2500 with a 2" lift kit. I have a 6000lb unloaded trailer. I'm getting some rear end sag when hitched up. I raised my L bracket but it did not take all the sag away. I'm looking at airlift or Firestone air bags. Should I be considering the 5000lb or 7500lb lift?

you should be fine with the 5000. The 7000 are really for the 3500 series.

Is it worth $35 to get the stainless braided airlines?

I didn't get the stainless lines. On my truck, the routing path was very protected and the regular plastic lines are rated well above the PSI I would ever subject them to.

Either the 5000 or the 7500 will work just fine.

I installed the Airlifter 7500 and couldn't be more pleased with the results. I went without the onboard compressor thinking I would add it if I wanted to...I won't be adding the compressor. I have an old bike tire pump and can quickly pump up to the pressure I need.

I put a skid of salt in the back of the truck that put me right at my 10k gvwr...they worked great. The truck was level with no side to side motion when cornering and still had suspension to handle the crappy roads here.

I ran the air lines out through the license plate bolt holes. The nuts that secure the air lines are securing the license plate too. Nice clean install.
