Question Air lifts on a trailer?

I have a 42Ft XLR towed with a Ram 3500 long box. I have hit the truck side rail while turning into a campground with a bad dip in the road causing damage to both units. There just is not enough clearance above the truck. I don't want to flip the axles and raise the hitch because the unit is high enough already, so I was thinking about installing air lifts on two of the axles so that I could raise the trailer higher when the going gets rough. Has anyone ever seen this done or have any comments?

Hydraulics would be better and you need to lift all three axles if you're going to do it.

I think you'd be better off having a custom bed made for the truck with lower side rails. Or even a flat bed with low storage boxes.

Custom truck box

I'll do that if I win a lottery.

you can put air bags on the trailer and lower and raise them as you see fit. It'll also give the camper a smoother ride so your "toys" in the garage won't bounce around as much.
