Anti-Sway WDH

Hello, I am looking to replace my old weight distribution hitch with a new one. Looking for any suggestions out here. Replacing a Equal-i-zer hitch, 1000/10,000 Tongue/Trailer Weight.

Thanks!

My 1st question is why are you replacing it? It don't use the equalizer but it should be a good hitch. What is your truck and trailer?

Not much out there better than the equalizer. I have it and if it got lost or stolen I'd replace it with the same thing. Works perfectly for our TT.

WDH

We are using a Haul Master with added friction sway bar. The hitch rating is 10500 lbs for the trailer and the hitch tongue rating is 1100 lbs.

The trailer is a Wildwood X-Lite 253RLXL grossed at 7685 lbs. The tow vehicle is 9500 lbs tow rated. Tongue weight is 775 lbs measured, and tow vehicle cargo is rated at 1386 lbs.

The tow is a 2011 Chev Silverado 1500 LTZ crew cab, short bed, V5.3 L with 3.42 rear end, with the factory tow package. No sway issues at interstate speeds. Very pleased with the performance in all aspects.

The hitch is over 16 years old. My truck is a 2011 GMC 2500HD, 6.6 duramax. Our TT is a 2018 FR Rockwood Ultra light, 2902WS. GVWR is 8,764 and hitch weight is 764.

I like the Blue Ox sway pro, an anderson may be a good choice. I assume that is published TW, it should really be a little over 1k.

The reality is with that truck and trailer any WDH should be ok or even none. My 2500 had a 1300lb non-WDH rating although I still used the Blue Ox although it wasn't really needed.
