Going back to the OE BFG Rugged Trails. First two sets on there each got around 70k on them. Seem like a great tire and wear well.

Ive got them too on our 2500HD, 285/75-16s and no squirm here either. They have given me their 60,000 mile guarantee and then some as well.

which continentals did you get ?

Having used both michliens defenders and now the Continentals . The Continentals beat the michlin hands down in every aspect . from wear , noise , traction , etc .. and USA made and cheaper . michlins either Canada or France

I had the Dueler A/T Revo 2s on our previous F-150 and they were great with our Roo. I put Dueler A/T Revo 3s on my F250 and have no problems with them pulling our 11000# 5er. They are much better than the Michelins that the factory put on it. The Revos do well on wet grass and in the snow.

X3 for Michelins Defenders.. a Great tire.. Had bad luck with Continentals.. replaced them at 20K.. uneven wear, cupping and noisey.. (on both our vehicles)

Thanks for all your replies, I had looked at the Defenders, maybe should have chosen them, they do look like a great choice. Going to put them in the "buy these next time" queue.

The Revo's have been a little better now that I have some miles in them, but IMO they are not great towing tires.

I would go back the Scorpions, but too much slip on wet grass (at campgrounds)

I use Copper AT3's on my Chev 1 ton single and pull a Cedar Creek 36 CKTS. I don't get any squirm at all.

*noticed the reviews for Revo's are that they are squirmy.

Like to get some input on what has been found for a good stiff tire.

I wish I could run Pirelli Scorpions on my truck but not available for the wheel size I have, 285/60R20.
My tow vehicle is also my main vehicle and living on a hobby farm with a great incline to get into the yard I need good tires for all conditions.
My Ram 3500 SWR came with Firestone TransForce TA's, a great tire on dry pavement and ice but lacked in mud and snow (test was in February 2019 (truck alone) from Northern Alberta, Canada to South Padre Island, Texas and back).
In winter I always had to switch into 4x4 to get into our yard on a heavy snow fall before I was able to plow the driveway.
I did find these tires to hold up well and were solid when hauling the 5th wheel.
I now have Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's. Have found them good on ice, great in snow and mud although noticeably louder on dry pavement but rarely need to switch into 4x4 to get in the yard on a heavy snow fall and holding up well towing our 5th wheel. Solid on the road.
Best tire arrangement was on our GMC 2500 (used for a TT and my main vehicle). Wild Country Radial XTX on the rear and Dunlop RV xt Radial Rover on the front. The Wild Country XTX tires were/are the best I have come across for my needs but again cannot find them to fit my Ram rims. They are acceptably quiet and solid (no squirmy).
Was at a weekend concert (Big Valley, Alberta) in a farmer's field...lots of rain. I got our TT in place and had to tow my brother in law's Ram 2500 with 5th wheel in place. He was so impressed he now runs these tires.
I still use the GMC 2500 for farm work (on and off road) with these tires, all smiles.

When I said I would like to have Pirelli Scorpions I did not realize there are few types of Pirelli Scorpion tires. The ones I would like to have are these. My nephew has these on his Ram 1500 and has done him well. He purchased them at Costco.

These "what are best" threads are ALWAYS loaded with heated opinions so don't expect anything less. One needs to read them and form a opinion of their own!

My real world experience will allow me to add another vote/opinion for Michelin.
Have run them for 30+ years on all types of trucks including my current 2017 F-250 we use to pull the 5th wheel.

I've always run the LTX All Season in the past and went to a more aggressive tread in the AT2 this last time and it was a wise choice. Better wet grass traction and they are wearing terrific with just an ever so slight increase in road noise.

I had Firestone Destinations on my Tacoma, and Michelin Defenders on both my Tundra and current F-150, all load range E. Happy with both brands.

I've been running Goodyear Wrangler Trailrunners for the past 25 years on several rigs. I can get 50K miles on a set easily, and that's a feat in itself here in Alaska!

Have you thought of using highway tires as opposed to A/T's? I use them on my F150 and I'm very pleased with how they ride and the lack of noise.

We had a 2001 chev dually 8.1 and wanted new tires. Went to buy the best good year at that time but was talked into Kellys made by GY. First trip over the mountains towards Seattle MY wife screamed at me and asked what the hell did you do to my truck?

Big time rear wiggle towing our 35 ft alpenlite down the two mountains we towed on. Not good on the level either. Added some air and better on the trip back. Talked to the dealer owner that sold them to me and he said well you didn't buy a premium tire. I wonder why I listen to him but learned a lesson. Be careful and not go cheap but I know sometimes we can mess up.

I found the General Grabber ATx LT275 65R20 for my F250 and has been impressed so far (10K miles). I am not towing a fifth wheel but a bumper pull 39ft, 12K it pulls great no mushy feel. It is snow rated and definitely all terrain tread. I suggest that you check Tire Rack for reviews on any you are looking at. Surprisingly my local Ford dealer beat online price including mounting. I would buy them again.
