Good price, cost more when it was Haulgauge.
I use it but have yet to compare it to a scale. I have used it in my 2008 Explorer and 2019 F150.

I like mine, even though sometimes it can be a little temperamental.
You cannot have both the Curt Echo Brake Controller app and BetterWeigh on the same phone though, the Bluetooth profiles keep resetting each other. See my pics below for a comparison between a recent CAT scale weigh and the BetterWeigh:

COOL!
I think that’s a forum first, CAT Scale slip and BetterWeigh pictures together for comparison. BetterWeigh seems to be reading low in this case.

Glad to see the comparison. I've heard it's less than exact. I have one hooked up to the truck but haven't gotten out to actually tow with it or use it yet. I'll do iat on Friday!

Happy to achieve this Forum First! I'll take a medal of some kind. As a super nerd, stuff like this is second nature.
For a $99 digital gadget that is plug and play, I'd say that reading is pretty dang close! I might have grabbed a snack between my BetterWeigh reading at 8am and the 4pm CAT scale reading that day. Next time I'll visit the bathroom first (ha!).

When in doubt, do the Calibration within the app before you attempt a weigh. If you unplugged the BetterWeigh since its last use, I always find the accuracy isn't great when I try to just plug it in and go. Their YouTube videos are pretty good, and they aren't kidding when they say to find a nice open parking lot to do your set up and calibrations. If you do it on your residential back streets you WILL get some looks, trust me.
I also think leaving it plugged in for a few weeks increases the accuracy, even if you aren't using it. Big brother is always watching.
Lastly, if you do have some problems with it, email support from inside the app. The Curt support team can get diagnostics from your specific unit that way and they are very helpful. Good luck!

I did it in a campground and didn't tell my wife or friends what I was doing. Talk about some laughter!

What calibration? The tailgate one?
Both of your TVs are new enough that the main calibration is done by VIN.
I did the 30mph in various accelerations thing all over the township to calibrate my 2008 Explorer. The 2019 F150 was close to plug and play on calibration.

The app walked me through a process of picking the vin and then finding a level area.

It doesn't seem to hold, especially with these new automatic transmissions that constantly "learn" their shift points. After I plugged it in and it pulled the data from the VIN, a few weeks later the numbers were all over the place. I did the Calibration in the app (pics below) and the accuracy was much better.

I have one (well, haul gauge plug-in unit that now uses betterweigh app). It obviously won't replace a CAT scale weighing, but I think it is really good for tracking how your weight is changing. Get a good CAT scale weight and weight from betterweigh to establish a base and then if you change configuration you don't have to go back to the CAT scale, just check the betterweigh to see how things have changed. I really like the WDH setup function it has.

I know this is an old thread but I just found Haul Gauge on Amazon for $39.95. This seems like a really good deal considering what they used to go for but I'm confused as I thought Curt bought them out and was selling them as Betterweigh. Is Haul Gauge still making these?? I went to their website and they are selling them there as well for the same price. Don't really want to buy one if they are just getting rid of old stock.

I'm going to give it another try.
Had one in the past but was very inaccurate on my frontier.
I now have a Ram, maybe it'll work this time.
A search for the Android app said Haul Gage is back and they show it on sale on the HG website.

Good to know! Please report back when you've had a chance to try it. At this price, I'm somewhat interested!

NOS doesn’t matter. The Haulgauge sensor, AFAIK, just got rebadged by Curt. The original sensor works fine with BetterWeigh app. At that price ($40), it’s a steal. IIRC, I paid around $100.

Interference problem with the Haulgauge/BetterWeigh, Ford F150 5.0L.
I have had issues with my StartX remote start not working in winter (only time I use it) with the Haulgauge unit installed in my OBD port.
Best I can tell, the StartX is the same as the basic add on Ford remote start and works the same with the stock key fob. Lock, unlock, lock, wait 5 seconds, truck starts. So it gets thrown in the console at winter tire change and brought out again with the summer tires.
