I feel I have to post this again...with no offense to anyone, but....all these numbers...adjust this, adjust that, lower this, raise that. I sat the other day thinking of all the different weight combinations I could come up with for tongue...trailer...vehicle weights. There were so many combinations that it would be virtually impossible...IMO...to completely eliminate...sway...bounce, unless you travel to the exact same campground...for the exact same number of days...with the exact same gear, same food, same water, same people. If I ran my rig across a scale every time we went out...I've have so many numbers...my head would explode. 3 day trip...4 day trip...two week trip...full tanks...empty tanks, 1/4 full...half full...probably get my point. I'm running a Blue Ox 1500/15000 WDH on GMC 2500HD diesel crew cab...2018 36' FR...950 dry hitch and 11060 max trailer with cargo. Had bounce first pull...added air bags...still get occasional bounce, but it's negligible...get some sway...usually good crosswinds are factor. Maybe it's me, but it seems like we're beginning to over think the situation and spending more time adjusting...than camping. A wise engineer once told me to remember..."KISS" Keep It Simple Son !

TheWolfPaq82... I somewhat agree with you and my kids definitely agree with you. I think we sometimes over complicate things, but in this case just trying to make sure the families safe. In highnside, I know I should have just bought the F 250, but trying to get the less than one year old F150 to work first. Thanks for the post and reminding me to keep it simple. Happy camping.

So you are running passenger tires and not light truck tires. That is part of your issue passenger tires aren't rated for the loads and the sidewalls are not that stuff.

This is why my BlueOx is going back and the ProPride is coming tomorrow

The only thing after 950km with the BlueOx did was Sway in a Pro kinda way

I ran the Equal-I-ZER WDH w/4 point sway for 10 years, so I was sceptical going to the Blue Ox 1500/15000. Once I set it up correctly...(dealer tech...not so good)...I haven't been disappointed at all. Running 1000lbs + on hitch and 10,000lbs or so overall.

After my next trip I'll probly be trying 1,500 bars. Would love to go pro ride, but already over on 1,660 payload. So next step it F350 so I never have to worry avian about this stuff and can just camp.

I thought I would update this post after getting the 1,500 lb bars and going out on 5-hour trip last weekend. I have to say the new bars make a world of difference over the older 1,000 lb bars. I no longer see the tan outside walls of the trailer when driving down the highway, swaying all the time. The bars did stiffen the ride up but was expected with the stiffer bars. I still get some sway when winds pick up and the truck at times (mainly when the tank is half full) feels a little squirmy, but much better than before. I think upgrading to LT tires should solve the squirminess, but then if I'm correct, the extra weight of them will reduce my payload even further. So at this point, I'm going to ride it out the next month and since the deals seem to be happening on new F250, may see about trading up to F250 6.2 if I can get a good deal and not loose too much on my 2016 F150. If not, will upgrade in spring to LT tires and feel that will do the trick.

Thanks for everyone's input on the Blue Ox setup and was very helpful.

Glad to see you got it set up to the way you like.

Now I'm asking a question for myself, but I also have a Blue Ox and I have the 1,000 lb. bars. What is the reason for going to 1,500 lb. bars?

Thanks

The 1,000 lb bars were causing my 33 foot trailer to sway to much in back end. After going to the CAT scale I realized my tongue weight was over 1,000 lbs. So that was why I went up on bars and glad I did.
