I've been known to take shortcuts at times, but never anything like this.
IMHO, the guy that did this mess should be FIRED on the spot!

Ok I picked the trailer up today. The truck was fine. As was indicated the brake pin didn't have enough load to show it properly working. The trailer brakes are working well after the dealer made their adjustments and drove it some. When I showed the scotch lock pics to the manager, he stepped up to the plate. He said that is how it used to be done but he has some parts already on order for wiring other fiver hitches. He said to let him know next time we are in the area and he would be glad to switch it out for us. It really pays to have a good rapport with your dealer.

Great news! Thanks for sharing.
Just be sure to get that wiring mess fixed sooner than later. It might work now but it WILL fail.

Didn't you say your TT brakes worked OK with their TV, but not with yours? Did I miss something? What changed on your TV that it now works OK?

From what I understand, they worked on their TV because they made some adjustments. The adjustments weren't initially passed on to me by the lower on the totem pole guy that called to tell me the problem was with my truck. I tested my truck getting lower voltage in the brake pin but as it turns out a multimeter and a light circuit tester do not provide enough draw on the circuit to engage the brake pin. So it turns out our fiver plug is fine after all.

I was thinking they may have magically connected something that they forgot to in the first place.

Like the plug! [emoji6]
Let us know how you make out. Hope you have no further electrical plug issues but now if you do you know where to look first.
Oh, by the way, any idea if the bumper plug is working at all now?

It's not but I don't use it so it can wait until we get the whole mess cleaned up.
