Brake setting 2016 Ram 3500

Hi, all.

I have a 2016 Ram 3500 diesel with the integrated brake controller. We tow a Columbus 320RS, which weighs in around 12,000 pounds. Question is whether to set the truck's brake controller to "heavy electric" or "heavy electric over hydraulic."

Thanks for any help you Ram jockeys can give. Neither the local Dodge/Ram dealers nor the folks on the chat line at the Mopar website are of any help at all. Heaven forbid that after dropping a ton of money with them that they should actually provide some useful advice.

Unless you have disc brakes on the trailer you would set it to heavy electric.

Thanks. That's what I had it on but I figured I'd ask before we hauled the trailer the next time. Our 2011 Ram 2500 didn't give us all those options. And, as I said, the dealers in my area were of zero help and the owners manual also was of no help.

Yup heavy electric
I have the same truck and that's where I would set it at.

I have electric brakes but set mine on heavy electric over hydraulic. Seems to work better, don't need as much gain. Trailer is 16,000 lbs.
