Building a canoe rack for my truck.

I am thinking about building a canoe rack for my truck for when we go camping. I looked online and didn't really like most of them because you have to drill holes in your bed rail or you can leave your tool box out. I need my tool box because I have tools in there we use from time to time when camping, also I have fork mounts bolted to my tool box for hauling our bicycles.

I am thinking about making it 1 piece that is made from like 18 gauge wall 1" square tubing that way my wife and I can lift it in and out of the truck with ease. Also, I am going to make the base where I can use a J bolts that way I can snug it to the bed with out drilling holes.

It would look kind of like this picture below but it will go the full length of my bed. Also the tube that runs along the bed will be left out so that I can open my tool box.

That is a sweet setup. I think I may still lean more towards the bed type mount.
