Calculating 5th Wheel Weight
My wife wants to know how many more pairs of shoes and clothing she can buy without putting our Cedar Creek 5th Wheel overweight.
From reading other posts, I think I got this right, just want verification.
The GVWR of the 5th wheel is 16,407 lbs
Two axles, each GAWR 7,000 lbs (I am not interested in side to side since I can't change that)
Maximum cargo weight 3489 lbs
Un hitched truck fully loaded weighs 9,920 lbs
Truck and hitch (RV wheels not on scale) 13,800 lbs
Truck and RV total 25,840 lbs
From those weights, I deduce my hitch weight is 3,880 lbs
My RV weight is 15,920 lbs
Therefore my wife can add 487 lbs of junk (GVWR minus RV weight)
Does that sound correct for those of you who "know"?
Fresh water tank full, holding tanks 1/2 each (holding tanks usually empty when traveling).
