I got it long ago. A F150 is insufficient for this trailer and load.

But a F150 can haul a lot more than a "half ton" something you brought up.

All said, no way should the OP consider 3,000+ pounds payload in an F150.
typo correction, my Lariat payload is a smidgen over 1800 lbs not 2800 lbs.

Thank you

We hauled that much weight with an F150, 8 cyl., using the flatest route website. It was very sluggish up the smaller grades. We avoided mountains. We have invested in a 250 powerstroke so we can tour ALL of the USA. So far so good. The salesman will tell you that the F150 will do it, but you'll be limited on your route and worried about your transmission the whole way..

All the other information I read here is accurate. I think your weights are incorrect also. I have a 2018 F150 with the 3.5 Turbo Boost and 10 speed transmission, 3.91 differentials and 4x4 with the max tow package. My tongue weight is approx 500#s due to extra batteries on the tongue. I pull a 4000# TT with a normal load of supplies (maybe 800#s) with approx 800# in the truck including passengers. I always use tow-haul and cruise control most of the time. I have no issues with towing and get between 12 and 16 MPG depending of whether the highway is mountainous or flat. I am very happy with this set up. So, double check your weights, don't overload and drive safe.

I have a 2018 F-150 4x4 5.0 liter (10 speed auto)3:31 rear end crew cab with a max trailering package that is rated to tow about 11,000 #'s.

Not all trailers are equal. You won’t be able to safely tow a 11,000 lb TT behind an F150

GVWR and GAWR are more important numbers than the “rated towing capacity”

I hope you're lucky and don't have any problems. Trucks are easily replaced. You aren't.

2018 4x4 F150 5.0 is rated to tow 10,000 lbs with trailers package.

Even though it's rated for that, you'll run out of payload capacity WAY before getting close to that 10k number.
That's why payload capacity is more important than towing capacity, when towing a TT or 5th Wheel.

Not while hauling 2,500 lbs payload

There is only ONE F150 capable of 3270 pounds of payload.

Max payload on 2020 F-150 XL Regular Cab, 8' box, 5.0L engine, 4x2, Heavy-Duty Payload Package and 18" heavy-duty wheels.

This is the one, and the only one capable of carrying 2500 pounds of payload and a 700 pound tongue weight. Of course that is as long as the payload includes the driver and passengers.

Maximum towing capacity "rating" is specified with the truck completely empty. I think you get a free 150 pound driver -- know one? Every pound in the truck after that decreases the towing capacity. Max is still the same but actual differs.

The weight of the trailer tongue on the ball is limited by the carrying capacity of the rear suspension although a WDH can alleviate some of that. A 10,000 pound powerboat trailer can have as little as 500 pounds resting on the ball and tow safely (has to do with wheelbase and the engine being at the rear). A 10,000 conventional trailer (including keel sailboats) needs a minimum of 1000 pounds on the ball and probably closer to 1500. 1500 pounds is just a tad heavier than 500. You need at least 1500 pounds of cargo capacity to handle that weight and people count against that rating.

It's simple, but not so simple that all you can look at is the max towing capacity.

I agree with all that math saying no an F150 will not handle this load

Well, your Ultra Lite 2608BS RV weighs 8,000 lbs and drops 1,125 lbs on your hitch. Add you and your wife, fully clothed, for 300 lbs. Add 2 bikes for 100 lbs. Add 2 kayaks for 150 lbs. Add 50 lbs for the WDH.

You're at 1,725 lbs and you don't so much as have a twig of wood for a campfire or bottle of water for the road. I'm not saying you're over weight, just that without much effort, you're north of 1,700 lbs. Many 1/2 tons will struggle with that. It adds up much faster than most people realize.

Sir, considering what your reply quoted and the other responded too...I suggest you start a new thread with information about your trailer and load to help you gain a good understanding of your vehicle's limit(s).

Folks, i don't think Azremo is ever going to come back and explain their original post. A number of members, including me, have asked them to clarify their first post, yet they have decided not to.
so i suggest that maybe we close this thread, since the OP isn't responding, otherwise the thread is going to get beat to death.

I had a f150 and an f250 (gas). I don't have any technical knowledge about weight, payload, GVW, etc. All I can tell you is this: When a tractor trailer comes past and "sucks you in and blows you out", you'll realize you ain't got enough truck. Seriously listen to those folks that have responded to you. Bigger is better.
