Check trailer wiring

Been on the road 6 weeks now my truck keeps telling me to check the trailer wiring ever min or so, Gonna be a long couple thousand miles at this rate. 2014 Silverado 2016 fr evo trailer. I’ve crawled around can’t find any loose wires. Seems like it’s the trailer but?? Stopped at the Chevy dealer he plugged a tester into the truck had me go thru turn signals bracket lights all said ok but it’s not constant. It does four dings says check trailer wireing then goes to trailer connected immediately. Any suggestions? Making me crazy

Guess there are some truck/trailer combos that have had issues but it seems pretty simple to correct. Hopefully!
I found this...

Good luck!

I had an umbilical cord plug added inside my bed. The connection where that harness plugged into the standard bumper plug harness was tied together tightly with cable ties. I loosened those ties a bit and reseated that T-connection and solved my “Check wiring” problem.

I had the exact thing happen to my 09 Silverado 2500 and still had about 1,000 miles to go. It was the brake switch and a common issue. If you’ve checked the connections and everything looks great, the brake switch is like $15 and a 5 minute replacement job. Let us know what it turns out to be and good luck!

Check the trailer plug on the truck. There could be some corrosion inside it, or a wire that is loose. Chevy has had some problems with the plug and water getting into it. Most (including me), have had to have the plug replaced, and I had them fill the inside of the plug with dielectric grease to solve any future issues. So far, so good.

Found it

There are a pair of wires that go to the electric brakes thru a hole in the axels, forest river seems to have forgotten to put a rubber grommet in one and the wires wore on the metal and shorted out.

there were many wires just hanging loosely under my Shamrock... I tied them up with zip ties and covered them with wire loom and electrical tape...
