Chevy 2500 w/3.73

Is is really true that the 2500 with 3.73 gears has a max tow capacity of like 9600 lbs?

I'm making a spreadsheet of various TVs with specs to help me determine our next TV and was shocked when I saw those numbers is the Chevy trailering guide.

You might need to tell us the year of this truck.
Plus, I assume with the 3.73s, it has a Duramax diesel. Yes? No?

2018 6.0 gasser. 4.10 gears is 13000

From the build page for the 2500 the only way you are getting 3:73 gears is with the Duramax.

I'm reasonably confident the 4.10 gears have been standard for the last couple of years with the 6.0 and the only way to get the 3.73's was special order but your numbers are close. When I was looking at them I checked every window sticker I could find on-line to make sure I avoided the 3.73's...I never saw one with them.

Chevy has some 'different' ratings by bed length...the 2017 double cab long box is 14,100lbs with the 6.0 and 4.10 gears. Diesel in that configuration only goes up 400 lbs. A double cab short box with a short bed is 13,000lbs with the 6.0 and 4.10's and the rating is the same for diesel.

3:73 is only available with Duramax diesel engine. Gas can only be had with 4:10. However what year truck are you referring to? Later RJD
