I just bought a four-door 8 ft 2-wheel drive F-350 for $6,000 cheaper than any f250 I could find. It's a 2022 the 2023s are already out so it's last year's model dealer was stuck with five of them and looking to unload them. The original post says he's looking to buy one in a year or so so I say wait till the 2024s are out next year and buy it 2023 pretty simple math to me.

F250 f350

One thing also to consider besides ride is maneuverability. Turning radius to be exact. When I bought my F350 I was unaware that the turning radius was worse than my F250. I later found out that you couldn’t get the better turning with the F350. You want to get into smaller sites you want to be able to guide the rig in and if you can’t turn tight enough in the space given something is going to loose. Love my F350 even if it is “stiff”.

That's why a lot of folks around here just go to the F450. Same ride as the F350 but a much smaller turning radius. Don't understand why Ford won't do that for the F350.

We have been in some tight spots with the 30 ft TT you don't want to go over that. Tight spots like Alaska, Yukon and BC which you need a shoe horn to get in but we managed. there was a guy coming out of Oosoyos, BC looked like a Chevy, towing a 30ft TT half way up this steep climb going east pulled over with the hood up on his new truck looked like a 3/4 or 1 ton on the phone. Don't know the problem but I was pulling mine up the same grade as his no problem, taking it easy. Still got both and now have a Truck camper to get in some of the hard spots when going back to BC, Alaska and the Yukon
2x that. We love our 2018 Ram 2500 and it pulls our 35 TT very easily. Gas mileage varies from 6 - 10 mpg when towing. Empty it is still a comfy ride. Dealers keep asking us to trade it in for more than we paid for it.. no way!

I have a owned a 3/4 ton for 7 years. I have been looking at new campers (5th wheel toy haulers) and the weights have gone up significantly. If I had to do it over again I would just buy a 1 ton truck single wheel.

I went from a 2017 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 hemi to a 2019 Ram 2500 6.4 with 3.73 gears. I pull a Tracer 27BH. The 1500 pulled the trailer fine but got pushed around if it was windy. The 2500 is rock stable pulling this trailer in any weather conditions. The 1500 has a smoother ride, even with airbags and fully aired up tires. The 2500 has a much stiffer ride that I have gotten used to and hardly notice until my son brings the 1500 home from school. That being said, I doubt I would buy another 1500 truck, just appreciate the HD truck as a tow vehicle.
