Have to agree with Jack above. My 2000 F350 with 7.3 is still going strong.

Both gasers and diesels have there place, and it is up to the owner as to what is best for their application. For me and what I want to do, diesel is best for me. I need more payload than is offered in 1/2 trucks and love the pulling power of diesel over gas. I use my truck as a daily driver and it has proven to have the best mpg of any truck I have owned. If you want a race truck, go with the Ecoboost. If you want a real truck, get the Cummins. There's really no comparison. It's like apples and oranges!

Your truck is in such high demand, on the used market, that you can almost name your price. 50K miles and it is not really broken in yet. the 5.9 TD, 6 speed, combo is well sought after and will pull about anything you want. I like the F-150's, but would not pull a big trailer with it. Saw a few in Yellowstone this year doing that and they had the truck so beefed up with after market suspension setups, it was almost scary. I think they are good rigs, but would put them in the mid range for towing trailers and 5th wheels. If you are going to tow a larger rig, go with the diesel. I've had two of the 5,9 TD's. loved them both. Transmissions were the weak point on them. I now have a 6.4 L Ford F250 TD and was towing a 10,000 pound 5th wheel with it until we moved to the motor home.
