did I pay too much???

I just purchased an equalizer wdh hitch with dual cams/sway control as well as a prodigy break controller form my RV dealer. They charged me roughly 1400 bucks! is that reasonable or did i get beat??

You paid to much. You should have been able to get both for well under $1000. What brand of hitch did you get. You say eqilizer but is that the actual brand and if it is I got mine for $600 and paid 120 for my prodigy p3.

Go to www.etrailer.com and compare prices. Expect more from an RV dealer. I would pay only so much markup.

first, the Equal-i-zer doesn't have dual cams, so are you talking about a different WDH?

if you did buy the real Equalizer and a Prodigy for that much money, YES, you got ripped off.

you can buy an Equalizer for about $440 and a Prodigy for about $100 from RVW with free shipping.

you don't have your location listed, but if you're in Canada, prices are higher but not that high i don't think.

That would be Canadian prices. The hitch would cost about $1000 and the controller would be a little over $200.

Yes, the true Equil-i-zer, or a Dual-Cam setup can be had for at or under $500, and the Prodigy P2 for about $100. But that's ordering away yourself. But a little more should be expected from a middle-man. So maybe that $600 gets marked up to 700 or even 750. Did they install the stuff? Might get things up to $1000.

$1400??? Rip off.

I know Clem's RV wants around $900.00 for an Equalizer hitch plus installation. I just had the Fastway e2 1000/10,000 put on by Clem's and I do believe I was taken to the bank. It cost me $450. 00 for the hitch after getting a price of $405 e-mailed to me. When it was all said and done it cost me 720 and some odd dollars to have it installed plus dewinterized the trailer. So don't feel to bad I got hosed too.

"Did I pay too much" is never a question to ask on the internet. You're not going to hear a peep out of those who paid more but those who paid less ....

And if you find that you did pay too much, it's only going to make you feel bad.

We got our Huskey Centerline, #60 of propane and a battery box for $525. It was part of the TT deal.

If your in Canada, you're not far off the mark.

Husky Centerline WDH, had to buy the extra drop adapter to get it lined up:

1100 bucks.

That was 2011 when we bought it.

But I must say, after literally crossing the continent a couple times and Husky once overnighting a complete new hitch to a camp site free of charge (we had the infamous broken pressure disc issue), it was worth every penny for the control and excellent customer service...
