Did they sell me the correct hitch?

I just bought a roo 23IKSS along with a hitch for my Nissan Titan. The hitch they sold me with the trailer is a hitch that drops down about 6 or 7 inches. I hooked up my trailer the other day and it seems that the trailer would be leveler, if the hitch was the straight out kind. It's kind of riding low in the front and high in the back with the hitch they sold me. I'm new to pulling the trailer, but I'm thinking I need the straight hitch. Looking for confirmation. Thanks for your comments.

Do you have room/holes open at the top move the hitch up on the shank?

Sounds like your hitch wasn't set up correctly. The dealer doesn't always get it right. I've had to do that myself with a past trailer/hitch purchase.
Your hitch should have came with instructions on how to properly set it up. If not, you should be able to find them online.

Can you post pictures of the TT hitched to the TV and a close up of the hitch.

Thanks for your reply. There is no set up. Just a fixed ball hitch. We will be going through OK in May. Planning on stopping at Cedar Oaks in Grove OK (visit a buddy from the Navy) and Oklahoma City East KOA. Are you familar with either of these campgrounds? Saw you are from OK, and thought it's worth asking. Regarding the hitch, the general idea is to have the camper level, Right? Thanks again

Definitely want it as level as possible. It will tow better and safer that way. Measure the receiver height with the trailer hooked up, then unhook and use the tongue jack to level the trailer and measure that height to determine the proper hitch drop.

You may want to do some test pulls before your big trip. You should find out how it acts in a cross wind or when a semi passes you.

I just looked at that trailer specs and thought you may want to read up on "trailer sway". With that hitch you have no sway control.

I recommend you go to another dealer or trailer supply store and purchase a good weight distribution hitch with sway control and have them set it up for you. I would then return the drop down hitch to the dealer that sold it to you and if it were me never go back. If you are somewhat mechanical, you can purchase a good WDH online and install it yourself. Nothing special needed except maybe a good torque wrench to attach ball.

Fly bob may be correct. The tongue weight on that camper, when fully loaded, can exceed 1,000 pounds. What is the rated capacity of your receiver? I don't know Titans, but you may find it is limited to 600 pounds tongue weight without a weight distribution hitch. The fact somebody sold you a drawbar with the incorrect drop tells me they didn't take the time to ensure your rig is set up correctly.

If i am reading correctly you don't have a WDH. with the weight of the TT and what you are pulling with i am surprised.
our TT weighs less and i would never tow with out a WDH as stated before you have no sway control and my money says your to light on the front axles

You need a good WDH with sway control for that trailer, NOT a simple drawbar.

I'm shocked that a dealer would sell you that TT to be towed with a Nissan Titan which doesn't exactly have the highest payload capacity and not talk to you about a WDH...!!! When we bought ours last year they included the hitch at 1/2 off, I would reach out to the dealer and see if they have any kind of package deal and see if they'll still honor it, and then never go back to that dealer again...!!!

Good luck!!!
