I've learned some pay at the pumps cut you off at $100. I was filling the Suburban the other day and when I went to calculate the MPG it came out a little high. Great! Until I realized the dollar amount was exactly $100,00 and the gauge was showing a bit under full. It has a 38 gallon tank and the gas was about $3.40 a month ago in Washington state. Also in Montana where I am the diesel is 10% more than gas, while in Washington and Oregon it's the other way around. The diesel is pretty consistent but the gas is just less in Montana.

I buy my Diesel at a Wal-Mart store (which is the cheapest around here) but they limit purchases to $75.00. Frustrating.

Yeah.. I tried that but they wouldn't allow it. I can only do more if I go inside the station and prepay w/ the cashier. We live in a really good area. I can't imagine fraud is a huge concern.

I have seen that sometimes, yes. I just use another card. I have a lot of alias's so I can avoid the IRS, so I have a lot of cards.

Two things make me mad at gas stations. One is the Loves/Flying J stuff where it costs more per gallon if you use a credit card. And it's been that way since fuel was a buck a gallon. Now that it's so high, what the heck do they expect us to do??? Carry a bank around???

The other is the sign that says "Your financial institution may put a limit on your transaction". Bull Pee Feathers!!! I can go to the same type station in the next block, and the limit will be $25.00 different. Then go to the third of same brand, same name, and there is no limit. Most Walmart gas stations I've been to have no limit. If I'm empty it takes me over $200 to fill up....74 gallons. Seems they just don't want my money.

Will starting July 1, 2019 the fuel tax in IL on gas and diesel will be going up so, look for a very healthy price increase for diesel fuel. I believe the tax on diesel fuel will double form the current rate on diesel fuel tax to $0.38 a gallon in IL.

2.64 for diesel here in Newport News VA. Its too high, diesel prices should be close to gas at 2.30. Now out in the far west, its important to make people pay
much higher fuel prices. The price of those high prices is politics only as they set the regulations and they dont like ICE drivers, cars, trucks, or NGas being used. So its important for them to keep up the pressure on customers at the pumps with higher fuel prices. to force behavioral changes.

Prepare for a SPIKE ! Oil is up 10% in early trading this morning with projections of it going much higher today. Disruption of the oil production in the Middle East from Drone attack. Prices increases are expected to be "Large" or "HUGE".

Yet the news continually explains that we are energy independent! If so, it shouldn’t have any impact on us, unless somebody decides to make some additional profit and use this as an excuse.

It is a global commodity. The global prices went up due to (allegedly) Irans actions. Even if we are independent, the market value went up. It isnt like a US oil company is going to sell discounted oil to a US refinery when they can sell it for market price elsewhere.
