Question do I need?

As soon as I can find a small front wheel drive, or two wheel drive truck, IE: the Maverick, I want to buy a dolly to tow it behind our Sunseeker. I stopped at a local RV dealership today that has dolly's. I asked if they also install a wiring harness to allow the taillights on the toad to operate off the camper. I got a rather, "are you kidding" look! The answer they gave was that there is a four way plug on the dolly to operate lights on its fenders off the 7 pin plug on the camper hitch! Seems odd to me that a vehicle sticking 15 feet out from the back out the dolly would not be required to have signal and brakes lights. What is the opinion of those of you who are dolly towing?

Do the tow dollies rented from UHaul have provisions for operating the TOAD's lights? No. The trailer is required to have the operating brake, tail, and license plate lights.

Yea, I have the same thoughts as you about the overhang. I've been dolly towing for years but in the back of my mind the no toad lights is always there. My dolly has electric brakes so there is no practical way to get lights other than to the dolly without some modifications.

I found a kit on the blue ox website that was a plug and play for the taillights on my Colorado. It plugs into the 4 flat on the back of my Georgetown. I just had to run/zip tie the cable to the front of the vehicle.
