Do I need WDH and sway control?

It's been a long time since I towed a TT. I've gone from travel trailers to fifth wheels and now going back to a smaller TT. Need to downsize.
My question is do I need to go with a WDH and sway control, or as the dealer suggested only a sway control (brake bar type). I never liked the brake type just seemed to be a nuisance to use. I had years ago a Reese WDH with the sway control saddles, which worked very well.
But I've been away from this for quite awhile and need some educating. My truck is a F-350 and the trailer is 30ft and listed at 7000 lb. GVWR, UVW is 5000 lbs. and a hitch weight of 525 lbs.
I have been looking online at some reviews and the Equilizer with sway control seems to be popular. Just looking for some comments and reviews from those who have a similar size TT and truck combination.
Thanks for any info

Yes as well.

Even if you had a much smaller camper, the Equalizer with 4 point sway control can't be beat for making the tow a painless and worry free experience.

We have a thirty foot TT and use The Equalizer WDH and sway control. After four thousand miles we have never experienced sway.

I agree with the others that say "yes." With your truck, the weight distribution may not be so important, but the WDH with sway is really nice. I use a Reece straigh-line WDH with dual cams on my Dodge 3500 with Windjammer 35-foot camper. In the past 2.5 years I've pulled it about 12,000 miles. About 1000 of that was last fall across the southwest US with cross-winds blowing at 30-40 mph. I would have not like driving in that wind without the sway control.

At least sway control would be a good idea, weight dist.maybe but doubtful. A lot depends on the trailer itself.

WDH's do more than just help out the rear end of the vehicle that's towing them. I'd rather tow without the WDH on a truck that desperately needs it than without one on a truck that doesn't even squat the slightest with the trailer hooked up. My 2500 bounces like a rabbit as it is unloaded. When I had a TT, I towed once without the WDH. Once. And that was a Rockwood 1809S with maybe 5-600# tongue weight.

Next question what weight of bars should I get. I have seen on equalizers Web site the 10,000 recommended when I put in my gvwr 7000 and hitch 550 -600 lbs.
Is there a need for heavier 12000 lb? I am almost certain this is my last trailer and do not think I will get anything larger, I want smaller even.
Comments please!

I tow a 2702WS which is about 7500 loaded with a 2500HD. When we bought the truck, the WDH wasn't set up correctly so I only had sway control. The truck porpoised a bit without weight distribution. Once I corrected the WDH, it was a much better ride.

Thanks for all the replies. It's a learning process and I'm sure there's more to know. It's like starting all over again. I have been watching the videos of the Equilizer hitches and they look pretty good. As I said, years ago I had the Reese with the sway control that had the stirrups and you adjusted the chains to adjust the weight to truck.

My F-350 2 wheel drive may not need the WDH but I feel it would be worthy to have it just in case.

Amen to the Equalizer 4-point wdh. Had one on two separate TT's over a period of more than 20 years before upgrading to a 5th wheel - per my wife's instructions!! It will not completely eliminate sway due to cross-winds, or tractor trailers passing you at 80 mph, but it sure gave us peace of mind for many trips.

I notice a Lot of Misinformation here, when using "Equalizer or Reese" you DON"T have Sway Control Without Weight Distribution, that is what Loads the "FRICTION"! Sorry! Youroo!!
