Do the dry weight sticker include the hitch?
Dry weight does that include the weight of the attached hitch, minus battery and propane tanks? They yellow sticker shows dry weight... I'm thinking the whole unit with hitch was weighed by manufacturer. As it was bulit when it left the manufacturer, includes hitch where the propane and battery sit on?

Dry weight does not include hitch since different brands weigh different amounts. You should look for a yellow label (usually found in the door jamb of the camper) to see what the camper weighed when it left the factory.
It should include propane weight per the regs issued in 2007:
The FMVSS 571 says;
S9.3.2 The weight value for load carrying capacity on the RV load carrying capacity labels (Figures 3 and 4) must be displayed to the nearest kilogram with conversion to the nearest pound and must be such that the vehicle does not exceed its GVWR when loaded with the stated load carrying capacity. The UVW and the GVWR used to determine the RV's load carrying capacity must reflect the weights and design of the motor home or RV trailer as configured for delivery to the dealer/service facility. If applicable, the weight of full propane tanks must be included in the RV's UVW and the weight of on-board potable water must be treated as cargo.

Dry weight or UVWR "unloaded vehicle weight" is as it left the factory. Anything added after it left the factory is added weight.

Okay yellow stick shows 4857. When left factory doesn't the hitch (where the tanks and battery rest on) come with the camper when shipped? Is it called hitch?? Sorry, new and confused.

Sorry, I thought you were referring to the WDH hitch. Yes the frame where the battery and tanks rest is included since it is an integral part of the frame.

I believe Debmar is referring to the "tongue". As mentioned this is part of the trailer and would be included in the yellow sticker weight.

Read the post from Teamfour above or go to FR site and read what is included in the UVW weights. They do include propane not just the empty tanks anymore.

The weight includes "full" propane tanks. See Teamfour's post above.^

Notice the term "if applicable". That opens the door to interpretation. And lawyers love words like those in laws. But then one must remember most politicians were lawyers.......

It does include the pinbox if its a fifth wheel. Suggest you ask the dealer what he will be installing on arrival (usually battery). The ones I looked at arrived with empty propane tanks.

If the weight of the hitch or propane is going to put you over a limit you're already slicing your bread pretty thin.

The OP is using the term "hitch", for the tongue.
DebMar, what you're asking about is the Tongue.
The Hitch is what gets attached to your tow vehicle's hitch receiver.
The tongue is included in the trailer's dry weight, along with the propane tanks and propane.
What's NOT included is the battery, dealer added options, water and cargo.
The WDH'S weight affects the tow vehicle's payload.

Was discussed on another site a while back. If applicable to builders mean if the unit has or will have tanks

Factory dry weight does not include gray or black water or fresh water tanks but DOES include propane.

apparently the propane weight inclusion was a recent change.
my 2007 factory UVW sticker doesn't include it.
but newer trailers' factory UVW stickers do include it.
not sure what year it changed. maybe when they went from the white sticker inside, to the yellow sticker outside.

I thought it changed in '03 but was told the year was '07. Two 30# tanks would add quickly!

You need to be careful AND skeptical about all of these numbers.
My "2016" sticker doesn't say anything about whether propane is included or not. Just states what the dry weight is. What it includes or doesn't include is never discussed. Which is probably why people are always asking this question.
It DOES say that water is cargo, but be careful. Mine says 250 lbs, which is 30 gal, but my FW tank is supposedly 36 gal, which then raises the question of the water heater. Is the "extra" 6 gal really assumed to be "in the water heater" as I've read on this forum? If so, then it's pretty easy to forget you filled the water heater, then refilled your FW tank, so now you've used up 300 lbs of CC, not 250 lbs.
