Lots of different styles out there. I have always put the Nfab steps on my trucks. Has the tube running the length of the cab, and steps welded on it. My daughter is 5'4" and it works for her. The running boards that came with the truck were taken off, as they didn't have any real drop down and were almost the same height of the cab.

I put ICI running boards on my Silverado when I bought it about 3 years ago. They are the round ones with the flat step on top, and are overall about 2" taller than the flat Chevrolet OE running boards - just enough that Yvonne, with her repaired broken hip, has trouble getting up on these steps.

I think I'll take them off, bite the bullet, and put the OEM boards on. Anybody interested in buying a slightly-used set of running boards for a 2015-2019 Silverado 2500 or 3500 crew cab? They would be just fine on a 2 wheel drive truck or on a 4WD for somebody who has no mobility issues.
