Fifth wheel hitches????/

Hey guys new to the forum just bought my first RV. I am wondering what kind of fifth wheel hitch is the best? I have a F350 single wheel short box (6.6ft) and just bought a 2012 Wildcat 323QB fifth wheel. What you guys think would work best for a fifth wheel hitch for me?? I also have a slip tank in the back it is low profile checker plated on L shaped. I would like to get one that the tank can stay in not sure if this is possible??

With a short bed you will probably want a slider hitch. Others will chime in soon about what makes a good slider hitch. So I will not comment further except to say, be sure you get a dual pivot head.

I am very happy with my SuperGlide 3300. I keep my generator up against the cab wall of my short bed. and never had a problem in steep turns.

I advocate the Reese Revolution. No requirement for sliding in a short bed, no worry about damaging the cab of the truck and quicker response of RV when backing up. I have a 6'4" box and I can carry 2 bikes in front of the hitch.

I have the same one and have never used the slider when used in conjunction with the Reese Revolution. Check out this video.

It was an option king pin already installed on my fifth wheel. I added the slider hitch just in case I needed it but I have never used it. The slider was the same price as the fixed hitch and negotiated in the price with the deal. i think it was arounf $800 installed for the slider hitch. The Reese revolution king pin was added at the factory. You can get the aftermarket revolution (sidewinder) to refrofit a normal king pin.

You will have to for give me about fifth wheel hitches i dont know much about them. So all campers have king pins? Mine is a 2012 Wildcat think it would have a king pin? Then all i would need is the slider hitch.

My hitch is rated at 16,000 pounds yet in 3 years of towing a 9200 pound camper it has gotten beaten up pretty good.

NOT unsafe, mind you, just showing its age. gauling on the slides and some bending of the front leading edge metal due to movement in the Super Rails.

I personally would never even consider going that close to the edge with my families life in the balance. That hitch and its mounts are the only thing keeping the camper connected to the truck.

In this case NEVER send a boy to do a man's job. I would not consider anything less than a PullRite has a SAFER, STRONGER, BETTER designed hitch for you model 4100 (16,000 pounds) to pull a 12,000 pound camper.

I am also using a PullRite SuperGlide. When I purchased it, the Sidewinder/Revolution option didn't exist. I therefore cannot comment on their performance, but the SuperGlide is flawless and automatic in its performance. I also have a TransferFlow 30-gallon refueling tank/toolbox combination in front of the hitch without incident.

The SuperGlide moves rearward 14" automatically as you turn. Without it, I would most certainly have hit my cab on several occasions.
