I don't think you'll ever not have people watching. I worried about it the first few times too, but what matters is you and your unit so I focus my attention on getting it done and ignore folks watching. Thing is: someone watched them when they came in too. Anyone who has rv'd very much knows sometimes it goes smoother than other times. Just goes with the territory.

That is no fun. Usually more expensive too. Got to have a sense of adventure while camping.

Seriously, I almost never get it on the 1st or 2nd back up but few do. No one will laugh as all have been in the same situation. Some still are after many years as well.

You will always have someone watching you back into a CG spot. Just remember that they have had problems backing in at some point also

Ford Idaho, next time try the Grand Canyon Railroad RV park in Williams. We just spent 2 weeks there and loved it! Going back next year.

We were going to go there last year, but 2-3 years ago we went to the Pines by mistake and thought then it would be a nice spot, it was not!

We stayed at the KOA on 64 then, it was new or near it then with no shade and the wind was so bad we did not use the awning.

The worst part was they used red cinder rock for all of the sites, it was every place we walked....

If we go there again we will go to the RR park.

Wool33, nope not at all. EVERYONE has to learn at some point and even the old pros occasionally have difficulty getting into a spot. After 3 years pulling the Windjammer, I was very confident in backing into almost any spot. Now that we have a FW, the learning curve has started again. AND...some of the best entertainment in a campground is watching others get parked while picking up some do's and don't tips. Last time we were out I watched a guy with a 36' TT pull up and back in with one swift move. His wife was out opening up the TT about the time he got stopped. I saw him later and told them I was impressed and the wife said "that's why I married him!" LOL! Relax, it will become second nature.

I have no idea what you people are talking about. From the day I got this fifth wheel one year ago, I could back it in ONE swift move into any spot. I have never 'wiggled' my way in, ever. Trees in the way? I laugh at trees.

I don't even have to get out and look. DW doesn't even have to help me. I'm that good.

The backup camera clearly shows every blade of grass that I am going over. I never fail to leave it in the exact spot where it is most level, too!

And I...........um........wait. OK, what?

What is today's date????

Well crap! As usual, I'm a day late!!!

We have a loving relationship the rest of the time though, all the time except when backing in the travel trailer.

It took me 10 tries to get the windjammer where I wanted it in Florida. She told me after we were done, "You had it perfect the first time, don't know why you pulled up and did all that other stuff". Me: "Couldn't you have shared that information with me at the time dear?"

The struggle is real. I love my wife to death but she doesn't seem to realize if she can't see me in the mirror or in window then I can't see her. I also tried showing her how to spread hands and gauge in distance and as we get closer so do the hands. She goes from wide open to Hands together, nothing in between.

My DW tells me that my truck is too big for her and she doesn't feel comfortable driving it yet wonders why I insist on doing all the driving when there's 36' of camper hanging off the back.

Haha my wife will never even hint at driving trailer. Heck she has only driven my truck once and that was for only two blocks.

I looked at my GPS track after trying who knows how many times to back into a site a few weeks ago. Should have been simple but my approach was all off and it's downhill from there. Looks like art work of a toddler. I don't get bothered by people watching. They may see something I don't and stop a catastrophe. Plus, it's fun watching others back in too. It's the only "sporty" thing about this hobby.

Since moving from the 1500 GMC to a 3500HD Duramax Dually the DW has not offered to pull the new FW. I finally did get her to drive just the truck over much reluctance and then only for a short period of time because she came across this in the middle of the road...

She said "Just great, first time I drive the truck and some jackass is right in the middle of the road! I'm done!" He was in no hurry to move over either!

This the way I think when I'm backing in the fifth wheel, I'm not ever going to see these people ever again. So I don't worry if it takes a little while, if all else fails I can always blame DW for giving me the wrong signals
