Fueling up

2015 Chevy 2500hd when getting diesel with fifth wheel attached the fuel tank burps and it takes an hour to get a full tank. Anyone else had this issue? I looked underneath and do not see the vent tube being blocked. I also put the camper landing gear down and took weight off the truck with no luck.

I just filled up without the fifth wheel and it worked just fine. I did but some zip ties and I'm going to try and tie the vent tube higher but still not sure this is the issue.Click image for larger version

How much sag do you get when hooked to the 5er?

I may be remembering wrong, but seems like there was a TSB on some GM trucks about the tank filler neck and vent. It may be something to check into.

I use Timbrens so there should be very little sag. I didn't get an alert that anyone replied. Very poor cell service in the Black Hills. Anyway, this is what I came up with and it worked on the return trip.

The vent hose was beside the fill tube instead of on top so I pushed it back up. I need to get better/more zip ties to hold it in place.
The vent hose on the other side of the tank did have a down loop. I was lucky and had a heavy metal wire rod that I was able to insert between the truck bed supports and under the vent tube. I then zip tied it in place so it wouldn't fall out. There was no other way to hold that tube up without putting that rod in there.Click image for larger version

I do not have issues with my 2015 2500 and I use the truck lanes to fuel with the 5th wheel. Interesting that it only happened while with the 5th wheel. Not sure what would actually change with the two unless you are using ahigh flow truck nozzle with the 5th wheel and the normal size with the non 5th wheel fueling.

I tried the high flow and regular flow at one Pilot and had the same problem before my "fix".
