Did not take a long look at where it could be coming from, just looked to make sure my coolant was at proper level, and it was. Oddly enough the wet spot has not been there since last week, but I do still have coolant.

Luckily I have the Ford ESP so it will be covered, apparently it is a $1800 repair at dealer or buy your own rad for around $1K and do it yourself.
Thanks for the heads up!

That is absolutely insane- $1K for a radiator!!! Is there something special about these new radiators to warrant that kind of money? I've bought several for older vehicles within the last 10 years or so- all for probably $250 or less.

Turn around reverend, you are preaching to the choir!
Just bought a brand new rad for my Son's Yukon on Ebay and it was $100 shipped to my door...
Not sure about special but it seems these are a bit different than the standard setup as these have 2 radiators, one is an intercooler and the other is for the engine (primary & secondary but the coolant is not exchanged between them) did see an aftermarket one on Ebay from some diesel specialist, all aluminum, billet and the like and it was $900.
From what I have read everybody seems to have a leak where the aluminum core is crimped to the plastic tank seam, bad design it would seem... (pun intended)

Granted it's been 5 years or so, but I purchased 2 radiators that were for older Fords that had the transmission cooling built in. 2 separate cooling channels in those. I know they were less than $200- I'm thinking like $139ish.

The Duramax radiator is cheaper because it is subsidized.
Sorry, just couldn't resist.

My Mishimoto radiator cost me 1k shipped to my door and $250 to install. Best money I've spent. The original radiator went at 37,000miles and Ford told me they'd cover 50%, but I said why should I put another POS one in to replace it. Sometimes it costs a little for piece of mind.

I saw that one on Ebay, I think for around $900?
How do you like it? Any problems with fit or install?
I am going to let Ford fix it this time, it is on their dime anyway but if it fails again after the warranty I will be going aftermarket.

That's insane. My Mishimoto RACING radiator for my BMW E46 M3 was under $400. 30% more cooling then stock and a direct drop in for under $400. You would expect to get that BS premium fee for a german car but I fuess the diesel rad is larger but $1K??? Insane.

Ford 6.7 does have a big radiator and one of the bulkiest/ most complicated radiators that I've changed. They dont use hose clamps any more it's a push on fitting with a snap ring on the hoses, and i dont think the hoses are cheap either.
Heres a pic (not a great one) that shows some of the radiator. This is on a 2014 f250 that i was doing a warranty frame swap on, back in October.
Edit- dont know how i did the double pic? And really dont know how to remove it.

There’s a reason trucks run on diesel: The fuel provides more torque, which means more towing power and more power. One gallon of Diesel provides more BTU,s, that the same amount of gas per Ltr of displacement. Diesel trucks hold resale value better than their gas cousins. My F-250 is getting 12 MPG towing at Cedar Creek 29IK weighed in at 12,140 lbs on Diesel..

I think the argument for diesel is clear, but the value depends on usage. If you drive a lot of miles you can make up the price difference. If you don't. If might not be worth it.
I don't think there's a one size fits all answer for everyone.

If you are new to RVing, The one idea you have to grasp is "there's a cost to operating an RV", Just that its more for some folks more than others.

So far, so good. BTW, the OEM Ford rad is $850, so for another $150 I get a far superior product...(plus install). I also like the idea of more capacity. and no plastic. We're are doing a 5000 mile trip from the east coast to Grand Canyon in August pulling our 39' 5'er, so alittle piece of mind will go a long way. Good luck

In case it hasn't been mentioned... I went and had my oil and fuel filter changed... at 10K miles. It cost me $188-. I could have done this myself a lot cheaper, but I was short on time and it was cold and rainy... so I bit the bullet. That being said, with my last gasser, I had it changed 3 times in the same mileage period at about $100- each time. The first wasn't mandatory at 1K miles, but the last 2 were, so.. I think the maintenance cost will actually be less or close to the same, it just seems to come in bigger chunks.

For me, there's just no substitute for the torque from a diesel when your pulling a sizeable trailer, or load.
