Got my truck setup to flat tow!

Took my truck yesterday to Ocala Hitching Post to get it setup for flat towing.

Tow bar: Blue Ox Ascent
Baseplate: Blue Ox
Braking system: RVi Brake 3

+ misc bits and pieces (emergency breakaway, 7-pin to 6-pin electric umbilical, battery disconnect, etc).

The install looks nice and the tech handling the walk-thru was super helpful and patient as I took a lot of notes, pictures, and videos.

First tow from the shop to home was about 80 miles without any hiccups. The only thing the tech could have done better is actually walked me through the disconnect process. I need to watch a video or two as the one bar was a little finicky to disconnect.

I'm excited! It's a little weird not being able to see the truck behind me without the camera. I'm used to towing trailers where a glance in the rear view mirror reminds me very well of it.

But so far, it's been good!

The whole experience is thrilling, that's why I gave up my motorcycle in favor of the motorhome and its a lot safer.

Yeah, you're going to love it

Just as ChrisParise said. I've got same setup after two years of no toad. What a difference. I've towed over 5K miles so far, no issues. Love it. I'm solo and it's cake to connect/disconnect (thankfully). Enjoy!
