Has anyone used a Fiat 500 as a toad?

After doing some research, the manual transmission ones are flat tow-able.

Have any of yall used one, or are using one as a toad?

Are there any good/bad things to be aware of, if yes?

Thanks!

Yes, I have a Fiat 500 toad, just got it configured this year. Road master tow bar, and external magnetic lights. Braking system on order, arrives next week. Did the install of the tow bar on the Fiat myself with help from a friend, took about 4 hours. Instructions for road master on turbo fiat were not 100% correct.

I pulled a 2012 Fiat Abarth for 5 years. The easiest of all cars to tow. At 2600 lbs and with manual transmission. Simply put car in neutral and you’re ready to go with tow bar, (I used Blue Ox) umbilical cord, and safety cables attached. Steering wheel does not lock, key does not need to be in ignition and no battery draw from a Fiat. So light weight
it affects motor home mileage minimally.

Thanks for the responses!

My decision has been made based off you all's counsel.

First I am going to sell my wife's car (evil grin) and then buy a Fiat!

Love My Fiat 500 POP Toad

My wife and I purchased our first motorhome, a 2015 FR Forester 2251SLE with the Chevy 4500 chassis, and after 2 outings I realized that I HAD to have a tow car. We decided on the 2015 Fiat 500 POP with manual transmission and it is GREAT. My wife loves driving the Fiat in town when we are at home and I love the 37mpg also.

I had a Blue Ox Base Plate installed at the Fiat dealer. My tow bar is a a ReadyBrute Elite that incorporates a surge brake in the tow bar and I love it, click on the link:

ReadyBrute™ Elite RV Tow Bar My RV dealership installed the lights and adjusted the brake.

My gas mileage (average 11mpg) has not decreased when flat towing the Fiat. You won't have any regrets.

I rented a Fiat while in TN a couple of years ago. TERRIBLE vehicle in my opinion. I would NEVER buy one. ConsumerReports does NOT like/recommend Fiats either.

I had a Fiat 500 Pop that I towed behind my Georgetown for many years.
2012 -2017
It had a manual stick but here was my problem with the Fiat stick.
They did a clutch mod on the pedal which was under warranty recall and on my next trip while towing it popped into gear and blew up the engine.
Fiat said it was not their fault and it must have been me while towing it placing it into a forward gear. LOL
It sucked the valves into the cylinders and self destructed.
Anyway now I have a Honda FIT which Is about the same weight but lots more room (4door). Take a look at the manual stick one.
Priced better than a Fiat.
