Ah.... We all do it.

Its one of those things you look at and think "that's not how it supposed to work" and then cant get your mind wrapped around what could possibly be wrong.

Admittedly, I'm a little OCD. Id rather know whats wrong with it than simply turn it over and get a new one. I know that makes me odd and Ive come to terms with it.

Prior to moving the brackets it would bump over to the other side.

Its as if something (the chains) was pulling it backwards.

Yet, you contributed to the 15 minutes you lost by composing a post.

BTW, a little with the "15 minutes" comment.

If it took you 15 minutes to get to the point you composed a post, perhaps the "15 minutes" you lost shouldn't be your biggest concern.
My biggest concern is you wasted a lot of our time with your guessing game instead of asking for help with a used hitch that you over payed for and had an inexperienced installer install for you.
Happy trails my friend!

I'm not sure if I should feel honored or scared that you feel I am wasting my time. It is mine to waste and considering what one considers waste may not be waste to another... Judge on, my friend.

I have and am asking for help. I simply decided to have a little fun in the process. I apologize if you need a sterile environment free of anything but seriousness, but that is not my issue.

Here is my thread I started on another RV forum asking for suggestions on the hitch itself and then I returned to once the hitch got installed...

https://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/f...d/28778917.cfm

I suppose I can give you a pass for maybe, barely, paying attention to the words Ive written here where I stated I was on the phone with Hensley voicing my concerns. Maybe your judgement got in the way of your comprehension?

It had never been installed on a TT or TV.

And more subjective judgement. Got any hobbies you enjoy that you spend more money on than an average person would?

Yeah, you over payed.

Yeah, you got me there. I should have just pulled the TT home sans any weight or sway control.

You're getting closer to an actual 15 minutes.

This isn't my first round on an internet forum. Generally, if you read a thread and think to yourself "I just wasted my time" you move on. Composing a post in said thread only leads to animosity and wasted bandwidth.

Or you whine a little, elicit a response and then feign some sort of superiority.

When disconnected does the head swivel freely? When I was looking again I was thinking your safety chains were too short but then you mentioned it can go to the other side, weird.

This thread is not really adhering to our most important "play nice" guideline. It has also become a "trolling" thread in the opinion of the site team. Please familiarize yourself with the site guidelines which work great and keep these forums a friendly and informative place for all the members.

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ork&page=rules

and especially these parts:

Be Courteous! Our philosophy is that we want The Forest River Forums to be an online reflection of the RV'ing community. Treat each other with respect just as you would around a campfire. Here are some general guidelines that we expect you to follow:

  • Do not engage in personal attacks.
  • Do not post libelous remarks or directly misleading information.
  • Do not take every opportunity to express your disagreement, incite argument, insult each other, or fan flames. Voice your opinion respectfully and then let it go.

  • Trolling and cyberstalking are NOT allowed and are grounds for account restriction or banishment. Trolling on this board includes posting controversial and often irrelevant or off-topic messages with the intention of (or anticipated result of) baiting other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal, harmonious on-topic discussion, especially when a pattern of such posting is apparent.
  • We take the "be nice" rule VERY seriously! We do not tolerate any rudeness.
We are closing this thread.
