So I am taking a gamble and ordered the drop shank from E trailer that Rockfordroo linked to earlier, should have it just after the first of the year.
Will let you know how I make out.

When I was towing a TT with my Hummer H2 I had the same problem.I bought a solid 2" square drop hitch from Amazon and welded a 2" square piece to the bottom so the Equalizer was at the right height. I also welded a gusset piece on the 90 degree angle to reinforce it. It was really heavy but did the job.

Nice purchase!

Cool beans on buyin that new drop, I will bet that will take care of you perfectly! I had measured the height of the top of the ball on my old truck before the trade and upgrade... BUT pulled a Homer Simpson and forgot where I wrote down the value!! :-(

I am hoping to maybe have time to drag the trailer from storage this weekend to see where the new (ball clamp on the lowest/bottom range) to see if it gets me there or not.. I will take a measurement as well to the bottom so that we can see where it stacks up next to yours.. Ill let you know!

I was afraid I would forget the measurement from the old truck so I used permanent marker and wrote it on a piece of shelving in my shed that I store the WDH on!

I picked up a new Husky 2.5 inch Receiver shank with 6" drop for $47.00 at Rvautoparts.Com My RAM 2500 sits high. I ditched the old 2" receiver shank that I was using with the adapter sleeve this setup is much better no slop.

Looks like you need (and I see you have ordered) a new longer dropdown.

I had to do that when I switched from a 1500 to a 2500HD.

However, I hope you didn't go for the one with the two balls (sorry, tee hee) on the shank as you will now have a dragging problem!

I discovered that the very first time I tried to back out of the driveway with the hitch mounted in the receiver...

My driveway was sloped and when the back truck tires dropped over the curb onto the street...that hitch dropdown hit the pavement and stopped the truck dead in it's tracks!

I had a nice dig in the blacktop for three years to remind me of that!

It also would scrape bad going over speed bumps or those drainage ditches in the streets you'll find out here in the west.

OK..I "get" why a few others said abandon the WDH altogether!

Hey there MT Biker,

I did get that Pro Hitch set all the way to the bottom drop like you saw in the pictures. The top of the ball ends up right around 24.5 " from the ground and that appears all by itself to be perfect for our Roo 233S.. have a look;

I ended up hooking up my torsion bars but barely needed any pressure on them at all. Used to run the Suburban at 4 links hanging, now the new truck only needs (if at all) only 2...

I towed from storage to home with no torsion bars installed, and think I liked how that felt enough that I might end up just using no bars and only the sway control bar installed....will see what things look like once trailer is loaded out for travel with food, and supplies inside.

That looks pretty good, should have the part in that I need for next weekend. Hoping to have some decent weather so I can go play around with it and see how it looks.

Received the drop shank today, I think it is going to do the trick!
Won’t know for certain until I can switch the WDH head over this weekend.

So after a trip to Lowes to buy a big enough wrench to undo the WDH from the original shank I think I may be a winner!
With my new truck sitting pretty much exact to where I measured from my old truck I have the WDH at exactly 14-3/4" to the bottom of the lower plate. (same as on previous truck)
Will drop the trailer down on it on Saturday and see how it looks.

Sounds good. Probably shouldn't squat quite as much on the new truck.

I'm betting the trailer will sit right pretty. I finally got the rails installed in mine, and pulled it over to hook up and see what kind of adjustments I needed to make. Much to my surprise, and total flabergastation (now there's a new word for you!!), my truck slid right in, and when I pulled the trailer up on mostly level ground, it sits almost perfectly level. I am astounded. I changed nothing, and yet the trailer sits perfect. I am at a loss to explain it. Hopefully it will ride nice and I won't have to add airbags this time to slow the bouncing. I will let you know.

Figured I would mess around hitching up the trailer on my lunch break today.
I think I will be just fine!
Truck only squatted 7/8" with full load of trailer on it, no weight distribution bars connected.
Won't get a chance to tow with it until late February when I bring the trailer down to my dealer for yearly warranty inspection.

That's what I did when I switched from 03 F150 to a 2013 Silverado. Easy fix.
