Hitch sway/weight distribution bar

Hi,
For short trips.. To/from storage lot or other (less than 45 minutes drive) Do I need to use the weight distribution/sway bars?

The purpose of the equipment is for vehicle control/safety. A few extra minutes to avoid that OMG moment at two miles down the road or two days down the road, my save both you and I. You do not get mulligans where lives are concerned.

State laws may apply regarding trailer weight as well.
