OK, we are ready - we just need to get two of each animal, one male one female.

Insurance adjuster - What do you mean your boat was wrecked by an avalanche. You mean a tidal wave, right?

Picture this-- 2 guys from work take a brand NEW bass boat to the lake
for a test drive.
One in the boat one in the truck to back into the water.
Boat is launched, truck goes way up the big parking lot and parks.
Truck driver guy walks back to the ramp and hears the guy in his
brand new boat yelling to get "the plug out of the glove box.!!!"
Truck guy walks back to the truck, grabs a spark plug out of the
glove box and walks back to the ramp.
By this time the bass boat has water over the carpet.
Guy figures what's going on and runs back to the truck and fetches
a BILGE PLUG and runs back.
They saved the boat but that brand new carpet and all those "dry in the
floor" storage areas were really wet and smelled like marina bilge water!

To hear the guys tell it later would really crack me up

I launched my bass boat without the plug, once. Luckily, I had a float switch and 2 - 500gph bilge pumps. We fished all day with 2 garden-hose sized streams coming out every 30 minutes or so... but it was done each time in a couple of minutes. It was cold so I couldn't get my son to go down and put it in... Looks like the boat was a bit much for the Chebby... ouch!

Been there done that. Went fishing once with my dad on his bass boat... Couldn't figure out why after a few minutes the boat was floating so low. Popped open the batter hatch to find 4 inches of water... Didn't say anything, just dove in. I can't quite remember, but I think when I came back up there may have been a "go for swim?" joke somewhere. Our bilge pump ran for 45 mins to clear out the water.

I was at the boat launch a few year ago when 3 larger boat came back and were waiting to be put on the trailers. The river water was low so the boats could not be floated on to the trailers but had to have the driver give the boat a shot of gas to make the boat slide up on the trailer. First boat no problem, second boat no problem the third boat was the drivers first attempt at this procedure. His friends offered to do it for him. He said that he wanted to try it himself. Wrong decision, he gave the boat a forward burst of speed and not a small shot of gas. Never did see a boat go flying over a trailer before. The only good news or maybe not so good he landed in the box of the truck with the bow of the boat putting a large "V" dent in the cab. His wife was not a happy boater.

Saw this at very crowded boat ramp on the Ohio river one night.
It was after a huge fireworks show and many boaters had been on the
water all day. I'm sure more than a few had been drinking.

The boat ramp was 4 wide so I was in process of landing my
boat while a smaller S10 pickup with 3 college age boys were
pulling out a nice runabout nex to me.

They were a step ahead of me so as I was winching my boat up
one of them was already in the truck trying to drive up the ramp.
Boat and trailer moved up a few feet then truck back wheels started
to spin.
No problem- the other 2 guys stood on the tail gate of the truck
to add weight and traction. Truck and trailer moved a couple more feet
and spun again.
No problem some other folks waiting to pull out climbed into the back
of the S10 to add weight and more traction.
Truck and trailer moved a bit more and truck stalled. Driver restarted-
gunned the engine and threw it in gear.
Truck and trailer move all the way up the ramp!!
Everyone cheers until they saw the boat outdrive was STILL DOWN
and they had ground the bottom off the drive and bent the prop.

I'm guessing daddy wasn't too happy when Junior got home that night!
