I got sick and tired of acorn pieces falling out of the hood liner of my truck, all over the grate part of the cowl, whenever I lifted the hood.

Some critter took up residence there. I never saw it, but I suspect it was a chipmunk.

I have since removed the hood liner.

I had an experience last year where were over run with ground squirrels. It had never happened before. They tend to eat up the landscaping here in northern Nevada.

I went to the feed store and found a trap called a "Squirrelinator." I am not making this up. It is a wire trap baited with seeds and corn, that can live trap multiple squirrels in one night. I used it a few times and was successful each time.

Squirrels have small home ranges of only a square mile or a little more. Put the trap in your vehicle and drive some place away from other houses and turn them loose.

It is illegal to relocate wild animals, in RI. I know..just do it and don't say anything...
just don't get caught.

Personally, I wouldn't do it.

Illegal to transfer to public lands in NJ. Private property is ok if you have owner permission. Guessing every state is different.

I at one time had an electronic rat zapper. Worked for nice, rats, and those "friends of Alvin". Never has a squirrel problem at any of the places I have lived, but I am pretty sure it would work.
