K&N filter and dual exhaust

I seen where RetiredArmy Steve has this stuff on his truck. Has anyone else installed similar and what were the results. Anyone try a tuner/chip? I was looking into similar stuff for my '03 F250 hoping for a few more ponies.
It seems with my six-speed manual that at 55 mph I'm turning 2300 rpm's in fifith gear. I go to 65 mph and I'm turning 3000 - 3200 rpm. Put in in sixth gear and I'm at 2-2100 rpm but no throttle response. Hit 70 mph and I'm fine in sixth (with the exception of hills) but I don't like running 70mph.
Did anyone get better torque and throttle response with a few mild upgrades? Steve, what results did you get?

about 36HP. If I had it to do all over again, I think I would go with the air, and keep the Back pressure of the OEM exhaust system then go with a "tow" chip.

I have tons of torque in the low end. The high end is where I suffer. And in the normal power band, I can't make the vehicle "leap" at all, but I can below 45 MPH

Right now I am geared for perfect towing, response and power up to 50 MPH and I get over 11 MPG. Once on the Highway, it's 7-8 MPG and constantly puching my OD button or rocking my right foot to pop the gear up a notch.

Why the back pressure? I thought easy in easy out made more power. How much different did it feel? What if you added the chip now? And what the heck is OHM?

Nevermind I see OEM now. Thought OHM was another of your funnies (NDP- no discernable purpose, etc.)
