My truck is gender fluid. I suppose if it ever breaks down, I will scream at it and call it a B. On steep hills, I will cheer it on, 'go man, go!'

All of our trucks and trailers, at the "suggestion" of my DW, have both a name and gender. I don't know how this would work in the current non-binary world, but she tells me the gender and sometimes the name become obvious to her soon after purchase. As it happens, all of the trucks have been boys...er, men. The cars tend to self-assign, so we've had both.

I have owned a lot of vehicles that were, let's say, well past their prime. Sometimes with said vehicles you have to sweet talk them a bit just to make it home, as in " come on Bessie just 1 more mile to home"! The DW got tired of everything being called Bessie so now every car, truck, and camper have their own names. Our F-250 is Smokey and the Flagstaff is Browny. My wifes Mainer is Marina, Taurus is Tina, and Sable is Sally. Sometimes you just got to go along to get along! LOL!

What Dan said. No effeminate names here.

The truck is "the truck" or "the Expedition" or "the Ford." Trailer is "the camper" or "the Roo" or "the trailer." Our Honda S2000 roadster is "the Honda" and less frequently "the S2000" cuz it's harder to say quickly.

My boats had real names (some due to regulatory document requirements) but were most often referred to as "the boat."

I have names for almost everything. TT is Little Baby, TV is Little Honey - even my 1 gal water bottle is Bessie. My vehicles have had various genders and name. Call me silly I guess.

I named my dog. He comes when I call his name. I named my cat. He looks at me when I call his name. I tried with my truck but I didn't even get a honk from it. So it's just a truck and the trailer is just a trailer.

Never naming another inanimate object.
My bride’s first name is Donna and her middle name is Rhea. Years back, we used to boat camp every weekend at a large spring off lake George in Florida. I decided to name our boats after her, DonnaRhea and DonnaRhea II. Many times, rented house boats with newcomers would arrive for the weekend. We would laugh as they pointed out our boats name as DonnaRhea for Gonorrhea.
Of course by bride became annoyed.

Smile A safe way to name our rig...

I bought a RAM 1500 Hemi - on the burgundy side. It's "Little Red" and in appropriate deference to my younger-days' red-headed wife, she is "Big Red." No other way to do it.

Above all else, she loves me, and less so, my truck - but she is honored by her nickname. So think carefully before naming your rig.

My Corvette is only vehicle I named (wife told me she needs a name). So, Lucille, because the paint reminds me of another famous redhead!

Add me to the "Never Name Inanimate Objects" crowd.
We just call our vehicles after their brand or model name.
My F150 is the Ford, the DW's new Hyundai is the Kona, our old Rockwood Roo was called the Roo and our current TT is the TracerAir.

Wink Names, What Names?

I guess I'm just part of the "No Name" crowd. The DW's Toyota Highlander is the Highlander, the TV is the "pickup" and the TT is the "trailer".

I have one son who, years ago, before he started having kids and had to be more careful with his money, got a car and a pickup both that he splurged his money on. He referred to his car as his "Little Girl", because she liked to dress up and go to town. He referred to his pickup as his "Little Boy" because he liked to go out and play in the mud. He still has his "Little Girl", but nowadays it's more of a garage queen. Seems he can't get all those kids in the car and his wife doesn't like driving it anyway.

I'm a solo female RVer, my truck is a female and her name is The Beast. She's a huge Ford F-250 with four doors and a full length bed. She's got some get up and go and tows like a dream!

My sister and her husband have a huge white Freightliner that I christened Big White when my brother-in-law pulled up in it the first time we saw it. That name has definitely stuck. I'm not sure if Big White is male or female though, but probably male. Their previous truck was a large GMC Kodiak (I think) and it had many, many mechanical problems so that vehicle's name was The White Lemon.

We name all our vehicles!

Apparently in Michigan they name their snow plows.

https://www.michigan.gov/mdot/0,4616...5096--,00.html

I just saw a picture of The Big LePlowski the other day.

How they don't have one named Plowy McPlowface is beyond me...
