Looking for Tow Vehichle

Can you all post pictures of your tow vehichles and what you tow? I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer and I need to upgrade. My TT is a 2008 Rockwood 2701ss.

I haven't uploaded my TV into my signature yet, but I tow an 8318 with a 2006 Expedition. Does a great job.

I just bought a 2008 toyota tunda 5.7 V8 with can pull almost anything.

i have a 2008 2701ss as well. i tow it with a 2005 gmc 2500hd crew cab short box 6.6 duramax diesel. the trailer is not even there when i am towing. that trailer mmust be one hell of a load for your trailblazer. i would say the 2701ss is too much load for a halfton truck. it would tow it but would shorten the life of the drivetrain. using a heavier truck, wind, passing transports and such are a none issue.

I second the no half ton theory. About the only 1/2 I'd consider are the new Ford's. Supposedly they are rated up to 10K now.

I'd go 3/4 ton with larger engine, i.e. 6.0 L or larger in a GM product.

Please understand though, I do NOT like to overwork my tow vehicle, I'm rather conservative with that.

i have a 2002 Chevy Silverado 2500HD extened cab regular bed with a 6.0 L pulls my camper just fine

1997 GMC Suburban 3/4 ton 350 engine and a 4/10 rear. It tows my Rockwood 8314ss just fine. I say that the truck is well broke in with 121,000 miles on it.

We were on our way to Dewey beach for a Greyhound reunion, this was in Oct. The Greyhound rack on the top is something I made for a contest for the reunion, I toke First place.

We replaced a Ford F150 with a Nissan Armada and the Armada tows awesome. Rated for 9100 lbs with factory tow package. I beleive the SUV and its center of balance compared to the pick up does a much better job at towing. We've got a Rockwood 8314SS.

Go and look at the "TOW vehicle survey" thread. Most of us have posted our tow rigs and what trailers we pull there. It looks like we all have the good sense to tow with vehicles that are more than adequate for what we use them for :O)
Ive seem some crazy people out there.. towing a 32' 5er with a s-10 blazer..
35' TT with a v-6 reg cab dakota. ect ect...

2002 Ford Excursion V10 3.73 towing a 8317ss, traded our 2003 expedition straight across, last year for it, couldnt be more happy!! (well yes I could) LOL

i tow my 27 ft sierra tt with my 05 titan, it does great,is comfortable, and i like the gas milage a little better than the three quarter ton for a daily driver, the new tundra is also worth a serious look. good luck

I'm curious what kind of gas mileage you are getting out of your titan? Driving solo, I get a solid 20MPG and anywhere from 10.5 to 13.5 pulling my 33' Cat. The truck currently has 190k miles and still gets this mileage.

I tow our brand new '08 Rockwood 8265S 5th wheel with a '06 Silverado 1500 Ext. Cab w/5300V8 and tow package. The Rockwood pretty much max's out the 1500 but the truck handles the trailer suprisingly well. I'll post some pics as soon as I get the authorization key I purchased for my FTP software to upload pics to my web space.

We did it...we bought a new to us 2006 Chevy Suburban 1500. It should be perfect for the amount of towing we do.

Properly equipped, the new Fords are rated to tow up to 10000 lbs. I tow a 7200 lb dry weight 29CKS holiday Rambler with mine and it tows fine. If you put that 2701S on the back of it, you will probably not even know it's there. Properly equipped means 5.4, tow package, 3.73 gears, 10 ply - E rated tires etc. Get 17" wheels instead of 18 or 20". You lose about 500 lbd capacity with the larger wheels. You can say whatever you want about the other trrucks on the market, there is a reason why the Ford F150 is the best selling truck ever.

Based on having one tow vehicle that I thought was adaquate loose the rear end and stranding the TV for a month, I always advise to go as large as you can afford within reason.

Expedition with 4.6 towing about 8,500 lbs worked for a while but not long.

Excursion with 7.3L diesel and good to go. We are now towing a toyhauler loaded at about 12,200 with an ugraded tranmission, Jasper Monster Box and Hypertech tunner and air bags on the back to help the Equalizer WD hitch with leveling.

I don't think that you can beat a diesel for towing.
