Lubing

Do ya'll lubricate where your spring bars attach to your hitch? What about the contact points of your sway bars?

Where bars contact hitch head assembly. Yes. I keep them clean of grit and occasionally add a touch of Reese Hitch Ball Lube.

Where the bars contact the down rods on the tongue? No No No. you want friction there. It’s the friction that reduces sway.

It is a Drawtite 06623-099. They quit production of them in 2011. The heads of the spring bars are kind of T shaped. You put the top part of the T in the hitch head the the bottom part slides in place on the bottom part of the hitch head.

Had the same WDH on our last TT and yes, as GLBCamper said - keep the pockets and contact points of the bars free of grit and put some grease in there. I also greased the balls of the friction bar that we had with that hitch - not sure if it was necessary but I did it.
