Max torque RPMs -- Ford F250
From what I've been reading, it seems that most people say gas engines achieve their max torque at 6000 - 6500 RPMs. However, my truck redlines at 6000 RPMs and according to the specs posted at Ford's website, it gets max torque at 3800 RPMs. Truck is a 2017 F-250 with a gas engine. I was kind of wondering why, in tow / haul mode, it wasn't seeking higher RPMs, and I guess that would explain it.
My question is, is this unusual? I really thought gas engines were supposed to need higher RPMs to get to max torque. But I'm very new to this whole thing.
