Question Max trailer weight and driver license

Is there a maximum trailer weight (GVWR?) one can tow with a normal (non-commercial) driving license? I imagine this might vary for each state. Is there a common set of rules in the lower 48s? Is it different for bumper trailer vs 5th wheels?
Thank you

There are a few websites that list the states that require CDL's or non-commercial CDL's for RV's.

In Ca, the bumper pull limit is 9,999.99 lbs and 14,999.99 lbs for a 5th wheel.

this is missing info. in CA you can tow any trailer under 10k GVWR regardless of type as long as GCWR is under 26k. However, you can tow a 10-15k GVWR 5th wheel recreational vehicle with an non-commercial class A or other endorsement (mine is labeled as "restriction 41" actually)

It is limited to 5th wheel RVs. Gooseneck equipment trailers dont count

You need to check with your state. All are different.

In Virginia there are no weight limits, no CDL, no endorsements for RVS. Just a regular drivers lisc,

Your TV has to be licensed for the total weight.
