Mirrors

I am picking up my E-pro in a few days. I forgot to ask the dealer if I need mirrors. My Silverado is a little over 6 ft wide (minus) the factory mirrors. The E-Pro is 7'4" wide. I thought I was told, I would not need extension mirrors, as it was 7'4", and most RV's are 8'. Anyone have any experience with this?

Generally, when towing the bigger and further out the better. Large convex mirrors that assist with blind spots are good too.

Agreed.

Anything to help give you a good line of sight down the side of the trailer and potentially behind it is well worth it.

Plus, you need to watch those curbs in the mirrors, too!

I bought a pair of CIPA slip-on mirrors for my 2015 Silverado 2500HD.

I added some accessory mirrors to them to give me more angles of view.

My current truck came with the camper mirrors that you can pull out about 8" or so. My previous Silverado didn't and I didn't like not having a clear view down the sides of the camper. I bought some on etrailer.com for about $250.00. Looked just like the factory ones but pulled out, just like the ones I have now on my 2500.

Not too hard to install and they have videos on Youtube showing step by step. A buddy and I did it in about 2.5-3 hours without issue.

Yeah, you'll probably be able to see, but with extensions, you'll be able to see MORE ! and that's usually a good thing. I used the strap on ones on a F150 and 1500 Silverado. My GMC 2500 came with the towing mirrors.

On my previous truck that did not have the factory towing mirrors, I also had the CIPA mirrors that simply slid overtop the truck mirrors. They were a great mirror, no vibration, quick and easy on and off. You'll get a much better price on Amazon than at the RV dealer.

You can get a good quality set of “snap on” mirrors that look like factory mirrors for a reasonable price, less than the cost of a meal at a chain restaurant. For the few bucks it’s worth the added visibility.

I special ordered my CIPA mirrors from Camping World ($70) before they were available in any stores.

And, as I mentioned above, I added some stick-on mirrors to give me more angles of view.

This was most especially important for the passenger door CIPA mirror as it is not a wide angle mirror (should be).

I have always just left them on all the time even when not towing, but have since taken them off as the parking spots at my place of gainful employment has narrow parking spots.
