I think that if anyone is getting rattle from the sleeve or wear on the pin then perhaps the WDH isn't set up correctly, otherwise there shouldn't be any slop.

I use a Master Lock hitch pin it had rattle when using the sleeve and my hitch was dialed in perfectly I had no issues with it bending or tearing up the pin then I switched to the 2.5 shank using the same lock pin and it's gone now

I use this exact same pin and lock with my sleeve and I've had no issues.

Just in case someone does not get the joke, put a 2" sleeve inside the 2½" sleeve inside the 3" receiver. What could go wrong?

Either I had issues with the tolerances of the sleeve or my old drop shank when in the sleeve...I didn't have any side to side movement it was and up and down issue that caused the rattle/play if that makes sense ?
Once I went to the 2.5 Shank it fit snugly in the receiver without the sleeve I had no movement at all.

If you are towing anything that has value, i would NOT use a sleeve..

They make a spacer sleeve to fit those. We had a GMC Sierra that was the same way. It came with the spacer

Maybe you need a pin rated for 14,500 lbs.

All the Super Duty's come with the 2" adapter, the dealer must have kept yours. You should receive it for free.

I believe he sleeves come with the F250 and the F350 usually when they have the tow package... a 2-1/2" - 2" reducer sleeve. My 2019 F350 SRW with gooseneck/5th Wheel package and tow package came with sleeve. The Ford fits tight, might need to sand just some of the coating off to slide in and out. Curt also makes an excellent hitch sleeve.
Most importantly is to get a quality pin... !8,000 is recommended for pin but research it yourself.

Tow pin that goes in the sleeve should be inspected before and during any hitching/unhitching exercise. Look for hairline cracks and bent pins. That is why it is recommended to use the quality pins rated at 18,000 lbs. It should be stamped right on the pin the weight. I had a fancy locking pin and after about 2000 miles of non jerking towing of a 6000 trailer. When I cleaned it off and inspected it, I saw a small hairline crack beginning. When I got my F250 then F350 they recommended always using the 18,000lb rated pins. You should never see a bent pin. The sleeve didn't cause this, too much weight and jerking for the pin.

Get the factory one with the flange on the end. The straight sleeves can be a bitch and slide all the way thru the receiver.

The OEM tow package hitch on my 2017 F250 and 2019 F350 both had thick and stout tow chain hook point. It is a bear getting them through and around enough to let the safety latch snap back. Thinking of going and having a size larger put on.

Yes, check your holes. Had to put in 10K shackles on my Silverado so I could hook up the chains.
