New F350 TV arrived at dealer this morning (w/pic)

Ordered at the end of December and arrived at the dealership this morning, which is a couple hundred miles from home, so going to pick it up on Saturday 3/14. To maximize payload we tried to go as light as possible, hence the extend cab vs. club/4 door cab and short vs. long bed…not to mention that this configuration being 19’6” in length will fit in my garage.

Did all the homework and math, but still want to look at those rating stickers, fill it with fuel, and get it on the scale asap…..will rest easier once I’m totally confident that I’m within my weight ratings for pulling the XLR 340x12 toy hauler.

Reese 18k slider will be installed Tuesday, 3/24, and with the Minnesota weather starting to turn toward spring, should be able to get the RV home from the dealership shortly after.

Hello John. That is exactly what I would plan on doing. We have two us and one small dog. We really don't need the crew cab. What do they say for Cargo Capacity and Tow Rating with the truck as you equipped it?

I just bought a F350 a couple of weeks ago so I know you are going to enjoy your new ride. I was also looking at size and such so that I could fit it into my garage. I was able to get the four-door standard bed Larirt package platinum to just fit in and close the garage door with maybe a foot to spare. I have ordered the super-glide hitch to tow my fifth-wheel Cardinal.

If I remember the numbers...should be about 3.4k for payload and 16.5k towing, but even the dealers don't want to commit to the truck's capabilities. They just say "you'll be fine pulling that size of rv." If not our 7 lbs chihuahua will be running along side us!

I'll post a pic of the weight ratings sticker once I get the truck home.

I have the exact same truck and your GVWR will be 11.5k. With your hitch in, passengers, and a full tank of diesel, you will be right around 8500 leaving you 3k for pin weight. The payload sticker doesn't mean much but your trip to the scales does and that said, you will be fine with your XLR as it's pin will be below 3k.

Beautiful truck and it looks nice with extended cab, the crewcab seems to go on forever, at least I find that with my F150. Not to mention there is less metal to wax! Let us know how it pulls your 5er.

Well, trusted the dealer, said because of tow package or 5th wheel perp, they would be E rated. Had to go with 18s, because once the tow package was selected 20" were not an option. I believe because of sidewall stability concerns.

The camper package does indeed exclude 20" wheel/tire options (but your tires will be E rated either way.) They do this because of the lateral force created by the top heavy load of a truck camper is too much for the ratings of the 20" wheels. (The 20" tires are actually rated higher than the 18's though so it's the wheels and not the tires that are the limiting factor...) I ordered the camper pkg so I could get the sway bar that's included then sold my 18" wheels and tires and bought new take off 20" Ford Platinum wheels. Best of both worlds IMHO. Enjoy the new truck. I hope it serves you well...

Ah, good to know, and thank for that information taken! I wonder how much lateral force it would really take, and the driving condition that would create that level of force? I assume a heavy load, a high rate of speed, and a complete sideway skid.... I never was any good at physics!

Lots of extra safety margin is built into modern ratings and limits to protect the manufacturers against our ever litigious society. I agree that it would be an extreme situation that I would never personally worry about encountering!

Thanks gasman.... I like the black on black look, but keeping the interior cool and the exterior clean can be a challenge.

Love that new 6.7 Powerstroke. Ford did their homework. Best diesel out there. And Ford did not have to be bailed out by our government or Fiat.

Nice truck! Have a 250. One thing we did which I'll never regret, is put a 50 gallon tank in the bed. Tonneau covers it and have over 700 miles before needing refuel. When I do refuel I know I'll be unhooked which is a great relief, which I have many stories! Takes 10 minutes to put in or out and it stands in the corner of garage when not in use! Just my thoughts.....
