New tires for tow truck opinions
I have 2014 Ford Crew Cab which I use to tow my trailer. It needs new tires.
I have been looking at the following tires and would like opinions.
Tire size 255/65R17. I live in south Texas so no snow.
Bridgestone Dueller load range- 2337, 51 PSI
Yokohoma Geolander H/T G056 load range 2205, 51 PSI
Michelin Defender LTX M/S load range 2337, 44 PSI

Not a fan of Michelin, but had great success with Cooper. You may want to consider their Discoverer AT3. I run a larger truck with 80 psi in the rear.

Love the Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 tires, that I had put on my F150.

I like the Michelin LTX AT/2 with a 60,000 mile warranty. I've got 20K on them and they look like new. Super Ride!

I have Cooper SRX's on my truck. Love them. Great on dry roads or wet. Track nicely with no tire/road noise. They may also outlast me.

Good luck! I'm sure this thread will explode shortly. I had looked at Michelins and know people that like them. I was looking at Coopers but they are in short supply around here at the moment. I ended up going with Toyo AT II AW as I know a lot of people that have had the Toyo AT II's and love/loved them. The AW version being All Weather as they have extra siping so they get the winter rating. They are noticeably heavier than the stock Firestones but track way better. The road crown doesn't affect the truck nearly as much anymore. Just had them installed Monday so haven't towed with them yet.

Wore out my Michelin Defender LTX M/S and found the Bridgestone Dueller for a less price. No chance to tow yet but day to day driving, a mixture of town and country, we're getting about 1.5 mpg better. 2013 F250 Superduty gas 4 door. Ride is smoother also. Just my 2cents.

2X on the Michelin LTX tires.. Costco has them on sale every other month, they wear like iron, aren't noisy and ride nice towing or if you're daily driver, around town too.

I switched to the Continental TerrainContact AT's size 285/60/20 they have a 60K treadwear warranty. I purchased mine last November from my Local RAM dealer during the promotion of buy any three tires get the 4th for $1. So far I really like them
They should be starting the promotion soon for 2020 its a worthwhile savings if your looking to purchase shortly.

Tires
I have put over 300K on Michelins LTX's over the last 25 years. Great tires, on 3 different trucks we replaced the original w/ these. Always better traction and milage than the ones they replaced. Average milage we got out of them was 55k in a half ton truck.I use on ranch and road on 4 wd. truck. Very quiet tires in M/S tread.
Just make sure the ones you are looking at are D rated tires. The last time I purchased, I had a much harder time finding D's in the size I needed.

We had the Dualers on a truck and I was not happy w/ rain performance. I replaced them at 35k w/ Michelins. Stay w/ LT tires for towing.

Go with the Yoko unless you live where it never rains. Michelin last a long time because they are made of steel. With the same traction. 40k in on mine and I could not keep them from spinning in the rain. I yanked them off and sold them to go with Yoko.

Been using Yokohama Geos for years. I get the 121 load index from Discount Tire so that I can get them checked out most anywhere if needed.
