We went with the B&W ...we were new as well. Just bought last summer .. 2015 CARDINAL 3030RS 36 ft, 12500 dry. Bought a 2011 Sierra Denali 3500HD diesel. Ironically, had a universal rail in bed so went with the manual even though we thought we were going with auto slide. With rail installed, saved a good 600 by buying the manual adjust. As others have said the new 5ths have the angled caps. Ours has performed great with turning almost 90 degrees to put her along the shop. Never even comes close to the back window...and that is WITHOUT using the slider...just used in standard position. And, we have a 6 1/2 Ft bed. We lov3 our setup and glides down the road. HAPPY ADVENTURES ALL !!!

I don't think he needs a Pullrite, he has a long bed truck...

From our experience you need minimum of 6" clearance. When be bought our new one , they said 4".. and crunch goes the fiberglass😡😠👿..We questioned them as soon as it was hooked up, it was to low. The person put his fist on the rail of the truck and said 4" standard height....We bought our truck n trailer used maybe 8 years ago, so I don't know what hitch we have. We bought new Silverback 29 Ik last year..We have a 2001 Ford V10 long bed with maybe 100,000 miles on her now

Thanks to all for the great info, very helpful indeed!.

Emailed the forest river folks to see what the height of the skid plate is on Columbus 377mb is as well as the bottom of the front cap when level. We shall see if they get back to me.
Cheers
