New Tow Vehicle for 2306
Well after our first trip towing our 2306 with a Tacoma I wasn't happy with the trans going to 250 in our AZ heat going up the mountains. Sold the Taco on Wed and today got a 2012 F250 diesel. Overkill but we should have zero issues now

Bloody nice upgrade! I have a feeling I'm not far behind you. We just picked up our 2306 and we have not had our first trip yet. First trip will be from the 7-31 thru 7-7 in the smokies. That will be the tell tale for the little Frontier.

this is a common tale for those towing full height TT's with a mid-size v-6 tow vehicle, like the Frontier or Tacoma.
especially for towing in mountains.

I did something similar last summer. By the way, like me, you will discover that all that pretty chrome on the new truck will be an insect/bug magnet. Take along a box of clothes-dryer sheets. Just wet one and rub it across the chrome and paint. The bugs melt away. I then use a general purpose spray cleaner (like ammonia-less windex) to clean the melted bug haze away and restore the shine. This works even if you wait several days to get around to it.

Great idea. I prefer the chrome over the painted ones.

I traded a very undependable Nissan Titan on a Dodge 3/4 ton with diesel. The difference in towing was astounding and made for a MUCH nicer experience camping. Warning - we now travel coast to coast at the drop of a hat....just saying..

Very nice. Did the same thing - bought 2013 Ram 1500 gas last fall when we went from pop-up to TT. Spent the fall, winter, and spring trying to make it OK. The numbers all (scale-verified) said it was, but I knew better.
We went backward 2 years and added 40,000 miles so we could afford it, but now have a 2011 F250 Powerstroke. An absolute night and day difference in comfort level for me as driver and for my family as passengers. Already planning towing Indy to Disney in spring, and working on plans for a western national park trip next summer.
Congrats, and thanks hbill for tip on dryer sheets. Can't wait to try that one tonight.

Beautiful Truck! We upgraded last month to this F-350 and are now pulling our 21FBRS with it. The weight police won’t be after me on this one. And yes, we do see a bigger camper in our future.

I'm waiting to see the final specs and price on the new diesel Titan before I make the jump to the F250 or Ram 2500.

Yes I made the same move with a bigger tt in the future. Went from my 2006 f150 to a 2014 ram 3500 srw. Wish I would have done it years ago,what a difference.
