[Newbie Question] What size shank?
Newbie here, with a newbie question.
Was going to order Equal-i-zer hitch but I don't know what size shank I need to get for my setup:
TV is 2021 F-250 (short bed)
TT is Rockwood Ultralite 2608BS
As a default, Equal-i-zer says it comes with the following specs for its 1,400/14k hitch model:
Tongue weight: 1,400 lbs
Maximum gross towing weight: 14,000 lbs
Ball size: 2-5/16" (Not included)
Shank length: 12"
Sway control bracket positioning: 27" - 32" back from center of coupler
Maximum trailer frame height: 6"
Maximum rise: 7" from top of hitch receiver opening
Maximum drop: 3" from top of hitch receiver opening
Spring-bar dimensions: 36" long x 1-1/2" wide
But how do I know if that will work with my F250? I already know I will need to get a 2.5" to 2" adapter, but is 12" shank length correct? How am I supposed to know about the rise and drop measurements?
Any advice would be appreciated.
