although im a cummins fan, i agree with scott, not that cummins hasnt had successful V engines (they have a few large displacement V engines in manufacture for a LONG time that have proven themselves), this is a 'new' platform for them and i would be leary of the early production ISV engines in these trucks.

personally i would be more comfortable if it had an ISB3.9/4.5 although the B series deck height is a real challenge to fit even in larger bodied trucks

The Titan XD Pro-4x showed up at the Truck Trend/Diesel Power/Truckin' offices in California and these guys were lucky enough to go through it. There are so many negative people on facebook who commented on the posts. My feelings, if you don't like something, then don't say anything at all.

looks like an F150 that got too close to the campfire... LOL

Be interesting to see how the truck does though, might just turn out to be a good setup.

I like it..... However, I wouldn't buy one for a couple of years. If it turns out to be a turd in the punchbowl, I wouldn't want to be stuck with it. Someone will be paying a premium to be the first in town to own one, though... but it won't be me.

Agreed! With all the emissions BS they put on diesels now there can be a lot of problems coming out of the gate.

Toyota just recently has said that they are not coming out with a diesel in the near future for a Tundra, they felt the payload loss was too much, even with running their own 4.5L diesel that is used overseas, as well as north american emission control reliability/issues.

Saw this today. I am liking the truck more and more over the Ram 1500. Making me think 1/2 ton FW...maybe???

IMO the Titan XD will be priced as high as a Ram 2500/3500 with Cummins TD... Also, it's a V8 diesel, so fuel costs will be higher than the Ford F150 EB HD... However, it's good to have competition & maybe it will force Ram to improve the payload capacity of its 1500...

It's very interesting, 2500 class brakes, trans and axles, it wouldn't surprise me to see payload in the 2500 pound range since the driveline is so stout.

With the power I've read about from the 5.0 it appears they're going for a "2000" class truck, beyond the 1500, not quite a 2500. I suspect it will be priced in between the two also.

I'll be interested in seeing one when they hit the streets.
