Congratulations on the new truck, Twisty. Sounds like you got everything. So when does full-timing "life on the road" begin?

^About 5 years. We'll have the truck and AF TT paid off by then.
We live very close to Intel Ronler Acres and should be able to get a few bucks when selling the house.
(If)(When) I get a Foreman position and some overtime, it would happen sooner.

Congrats on the new truck. Sounds like a great rig. Did you order through Doherty Ford?

With all the Intel building going on here I'm hoping house values will climb as they begin staffing the new fabs. We don't live too far from Ronler Acres ourselves.

I'm buying it through Dick's MacKenzie Ford on TV Highway.
IMO, Intel is the only reason that this area hasn't gone down the poophole.
I'm working with guys from Las Vegas, Reno and Montana - some of whom hadn't worked for several months or up to 2 years.

Congrats on the new truck, you will love it. The 6.2's seem to take some miles to wake up from what I hear (ours already had almost 60k when we bought it so I cannot say from experience) It does pull much better that our similarly equipped Dodge Megacab with a Hemi. Those 4.30 gears are gonna make that thing a monster.

Intel, the computer chip manufacturer, has one of their largest manufacturing plants here in Hillsboro Oregon. They are in the process of building two more right now and are dropping nearly a billion dollars in the process in their recent expansions. Ronler Acres is the name of this specific plant.

Congrats on that new truck! Same plan here, pay things off and get the kids through college. I can retire from my federal job at 57 and my wife who teaches will qualify as well two months before me. Best of luck to you.

That new car smell can be addictive. I believe I have the truck I need so will not smell that smell anytime soon.

I've worked at Intel several times. Hated it. Too much bs. I was a foreman for PCI for my last 7 yrs before I retired 4 yrs 6 mths ago. I ran the skybridge from IIRC D1C to ? Tried to stay away from there. Lots of guys find a home there. I just couldn't get into the clean room mode. Overtime $$$$ is killer though. Anyway congrats on the new truck.

Hi goduc!
Intel is a blessing and a ................... LOL!
We have a few sayings;
"I'm just hanging out until payday"
"If I'm not having a good time, I'm gone"
"Safety first, at any cost"
"Leave common sense outside the fence"
"Not even a midget on crack could fit in there"

Anyway, you have to admit that the money we made/make touched many hundreds of lives in many states.
I'm glad you had a good run in your trade!
Happy travels Brother!

Cool for you! That's great!
I was told 14 weeks the first time at the dealer.
Then I ordered the truck through Bill Huff and he said maybe 8 to 10 weeks.
So... 2 weeks early... 4 to 6 weeks...
Cool for me!!
