our new Toad hauler

After many months of reading and watching
i decided no tow bar or dollie was going to make me happy
I have to be able to back up, it has to be a Navy thing

so after much looking and leaning i found one for us.
it might not be the best deal for smaller cg's but i have a solution for tight places. we dont always take the car with us anyways,
but this baby will check off one more box for our Alaska trip

IS that really called a "Toad"? If it is then a made a crack about that in a earlier post i thought it was a misspelling

Where are the loading ramps? Didn't see them stored in the trailer anywhere? If not there, might want to get some, and figure a way to haul them also. Nice looking trailer, but keep in mind that metal floor will be very slick when wet. Metal ramps will be too. I would look in to adding some side rails, especially if used only for the purpose of hauling one vehicle. Also make sure you take a test pull around the block and up to highway speed. May not need to load all the way on the front of the trailer, to adjust tongue weight.

ramps are in the rear left side pocket behind the fenders,
i have thought about non skidding the deck to prevent by bouncing off the thing
they slide in and are clipped in place, i need to replace the pin clips with padlocks to prevent an unwarranted departure
as for the tongue
i have a 30x64 tool box going down first on the forward floor
then the edge it has 111" WB and measured out.....it should sit with around 75%-80% on the wheels, but i will go do a drive by at the scales to set the final location
for holding the edge down i ordered some E-track and wheel straps, hopefully they come in soon,
the empty trailer looks heavy....but my svelte 229 lbs standing on the rear deck, will lift the tongue off the ground

My friend has one just like that one, and he's pulled many cars with his, and it pulls great. I have used it twice myself, and not had any problems. It is however pretty wide- wider than the vehicle towing it, usually. Randy

I have a similiar trailer for my drag car. I suggest that you fabricate a piece of 3 x 3 angle with mounting tabs and bolt to the trailer deck at the location of the driver's side front tire. That way went you drive/winch the vehicle onto the trailer up to the bolted-on stop. The real trick is to determine the right location of the vehicle on the trailer for best towing characteristics...a little trial and error before you bolt the stop in place.

I have the e-tracks coming soon, i can easily add a wheel stop to them, thanks again for the great EASY idea, i hadn't even thought about a wheel stop

I have also heard Towed On A Dolly, and TOw All (wheels) Down, which is similar to FROG (Four (wheels) Running On Ground).

i finally had some time to finish the TOAD
laid out the E-track and bolted them down for easy loading of the edge
and added some BLING moon hubcaps with flickerers

I had to finish up today, its suppose to be cold and snowy on tuesday, and i just dont do well outside when its like that
